Kepalsuan Hadis Kelebihan Tarawikh

Sejak beberapa tahun kebelakangan ini satu hadis tentang kelebihan tarawikh pada malam-malam ramadhan telah tersebar dengan meluas sekali. Media-media elektronik, media-media cetak serta media-media massa turut sama memainkan peranan mereka menyebarkannya melalui akhbar-akhbar, dairi-dairi Islam, TV, radio, risalah-risalah dan lain-lain dengan harapan semoga mereka mendapat saham dalam usaha menggalakkan umat Islam supaya rajin beramal ibadat terutamanya dalam bulan yang diberkati itu. Hadis yang dimaksudkan itu ialah satu hadis yang agak panjang kononnya diriwayatkan oleh Sayyidina Ali r. a. yang sebahagian darinya adalah seperti berikut,

Diriwayatkan oleh Sayyidina Ali bahawa Rasulullah s. a. w. telah bersabda berkenaan dengan fadhilat sembahyang tarawih pada bulan Ramadhan antaranya:

Malam Pertama: Keluar dosa-dosa orang mukmin pada malam pertama seperti mana dia baru dilahirkan(mendapat keampunan dari Allah Taala).
Malam Keempat: Mendapat pahala sebagaimana pahala orang-orang yang membaca kitab Taurat, Zabur, Injil dan Al-Quran.

Malam Keenam: Allah kurniakan pahala kepadanya pahala malaikat-malaikat yang tawaf di Baitul-Ma`mur(sebanyak 70 ribu malaikat sekali tawaf), serta setiap batu-batu dan tanah akan mendoakan supaya Allah mengampuni dosa-dosa orang yang mengerjakan sembahyang tarawih pada malam ini.

Malam Ketujuh: Seolah-olah dia dapat bertemu serta menolong Nabi Musa A. S. menentang musuh ketatnya Firaun dan Haman.

Malam Kelapan: Allah mengurniakan pahala orang sembahyang tarawih sepertimana yang telah dikurniakan kepada Nabi Ibrahim A. S.

Malam kesembilan: Allah kurniakan pahala dan dinaikkan mutu ibadat hambanya seperti Nabi Muhammad S. A. W..

Dan kelebihan-kelebihan seterusnya sehingga sampai kemalam yang ke-tiga puluh

Namun begitu setelah diajukan pertanyaan kepada beberapa tokoh agama tanahair tentang kedudukan hadis ini, dari manakah ianya diambil, semuanya tidak dapat memberikan penjelasan. Dan setelah diteliti dalam kitab induk hadis seperti Sunan Sittah dan lain-lain kitab hadis lagi, ianya tidak ditemui.

Begitu juga dalam kitab-kitab hadis palsu (maudhu`aat) sendiri pun tidak didapati hadis ini. Ini menunjukkan bahawa hadis ini merupakan satu hadis yang baru diada-adakan sehingga ulama-ulama hadis dahulu yang menulis tentang hadis maudhu` pun tidak mengetahui akan wujudnya hadis ini. Kita tidak menafikan kelebihan sembahyang tarawih dan kedudukannya didalam sunnah.

Namun begitu kita tidak mahu umat Islam tertipu dengan berbagai-bagai janji palsu yang menyebabkan umat Islam mengerjakan amalan-amalan kebaikan dengan mengharapkan sesuatu yang sebenarnya tidak akan diperolehinya. Dengan tersebarnya hadis-hadis palsu seumpama ini juga akan mencemarkan kesucian hadis Rasulullah s. a. w. yang dipelihara dengan dengan begitu baik oleh ulama-ulama kita dahulu.

Rasulullah S. A. W. telah pun memberikan amaran terhadap orang-orang yang mengadakan pendustaan atas namanya dengan ancaman yang berat sebagaimana sabdanya Barang siapa sengaja mengadakan dusta atas namaku maka hendaklah dia menyediakan tempatnya dalam neraka.(Bukhori, Muslim)

Hadis ini diriwayatkan dengan banyak sekali sehingga sampai keperingkat Mutawatir. Ancaman ini merangkumi segala jenis pendustaan keatas Nabi S. A. W. sama ada dengan maksud memberi galakan supaya rajin beramal ibadat ataupun ancaman supaya menjauhi segala larangan Allah (targhib dan tarhib).

Mulla Ali Qari dalam Al-Asrarul-Marfu'ah selepas membawakan lebih dari seratus riwayat hadis tentang pendustaan atas nama Nabi Muhammad S. A. W. menukilkan kata-kata Imam Nawawi dalam syarah Muslim. Kata Imam Nawawi: Haram meriwayatkan sesuatu hadis palsu (maudhu`) bagi orang yang mengetahui bahawa hadis itu maudhu` atau dia hanya menyangka hadis ini maudhu`. Siapa yang menceritakan hadis yang dia tahu atau dia sangka bahawa ianya maudhu` serta dia tidak menerangkan keadaannya maka dia termasuk dalam ancaman ini.

Katanya lagi, tidak ada perbezaan dalam pengharaman pendustaan atas Nabi Muhammad S. A. W. di antara hadis tentang hukum-hukum dan hadis yang bukan berkenaan dengan hukum seperti hadis yang mengandungi dorongan serta galakan beramal ibadat, hadis-hadis nasihat dan lain-lain. Semuanya haram termasuk dalam sebesar-besar dosa dan sejelek-jelek perkara dengan ijmak ulamak Islam seterusnya dia berkata: Ulama-ulama telah pun sepakat tentang haram berdusta atas nama orang-orang biasa. Bagaimana pula dengan orang yang kata-katanya adalah syariat, kalamnya adalah wahyu dan berdusta atasnya adalah pendustaan atas Allah juga.

Fiman Allah bermaksud: Tidaklah dia mengucapkan mengikut kemahuan hawa nafsunya. Apa yang diucapkan tidak lain melainkan wahyu yang diwahyukan.(An-Najm: 3-4).

Di dalam hadis tersebut nampaknya ada galakan supaya umat Islam rajin untuk melakukan amalan terawih dalam bulan Ramadhan seperti mana kita sering dapati hadis ancaman terhadap orang yang meninggalkan sembahyang yang mana sebenarnya hadis itu pun telah di reka atas nama nabi Muhammad S. A. W. seperti contoh satu hadis yang sebahagian darinya berbunyi:

Jika seseorang itu meninggalkan sembahyang zohor dosanya adalah seperti dia berzina dengan ibunya sendiri. Jika dia meninggalkan sembahyang sembahyang asar dosanya adalah seperti meruntuhkan kaa'bah..

Adakah tidak cukup dengan janji ganjaran dari Allah bagi orang yang menghidupkan malam Ramadhan yang terdapat dalam kitab hadis shahih contohnya hadis yang bermaksud: Sesiapa yang menghidupkan malam ramadhan dengan penuh keimanan dan mengharapkan ganjaran dari Allah diampunkan dosa-dosanya yang lalu. (Al-Bukhari)

Dan adakah tidak cukup dengan ancaman terhadap orang yang meninggalkan sembahyang yang terdapat dalam al-Quran antaranya firman Allah yang bermaksud: Apakah yang menyebabkan kamu dimasukkan kedalam neraka saqar? Mereka menjawab: Kami dahulu termasuk orang yang tidak mengerjakan sembahyang. (Al-Muddatsir)

Sebenarnya bagi mereka yang suka menghidupkan malam Ramadhan tidak mesti dengan adanya hadis rekaan yang seperti ini mereka akan bersungguh-sungguh dalam menghidupkan amalan tarawih ini. Dan orang yang malas bersembahyang bawalah hadis yang bagaimana teruk sekalipun siksaannya namun mereka tetap tidak mahu mengerjakannya.

Diantara ciri-ciri hadis maudhu` (rekaan) dari segi zahirnya selain dari meneliti sanad perawinya ialah

1. Kelebihan yang disebutkan menyamai atau mengatasi kelebihan yang terdapat pada para sahabat nabi kita Muhammad S. A. W. atau orang yang berjuang bersama dengan nabi-nabi yang lain apatah lagi untuk menyamai atau mengatasi kedudukan nabi-nabi kerana umat yang datang kemudian walaupun setinggi-tinggi wali sekalipun tidak akan dapat mengatasi atau menyamai kedudukan sekecil-kecil sahabat apatah lagi untuk menyamai kedudukan seorang nabi.

2. Kelebihan yang terdapat didalamnya tidak sepadan dengan amalan yang dilakukan dimana ia menyalahi apa yang terdapat dalam syariat sebagaimana tersebut dalam Al-Qur'an dan hadis-hadis shohih.

3. Kandungannya serta ertinya rapuh, tidak menyerupai kalam Nabi Muhammad s. a. w. dan lafaznya tidak sesuai keluar dari mulut Nabi sepertimana yang terdapat dalam hadis-hadis shohih.

4. Didalam setengah risalah yang terdapat hadis ini, ianya dimulai dengan "Ya Ali" sedangkan ulama-ulama hadis telah mengatakan bahawa hadis-hadis yang dimulai dengan kata-kata ini hanya dua atau tiga sahaja yang shohih. Yang lainnya adalah palsu.

Oleh itu umat Islam sekalian terutamanya pihak-pihak berkenaan seperti institusi-institusi agama diperingkat negeri dan pusat sepatutnya prihatin terhadap perkara seperti ini demi menjaga kesucian hadis Rasul yang menjadi pegangan kedua Ahlus Sunnah Wal Jamaah. Umat Islam janganlah mudah tertipu dengan diayah-diayah palsu yang dikaitkan dengan Rasulullah sedangkan ianya tidak ada hubungan langsung dengan Rasulullah s. a. w. Janganlah sampai masyarakat kita melakukan sesuatu amalan dengan harapan akan mendapat pahala sedangkan sebaliknya dosa besar pula yang diperolehi dengan menyebarkan dan seterusnya beramal dengan hadis-hadis palsu seperti ini.

Tajdid: A Necessity to the Ummah

Tajdid or the process of renewal to the religious comprehension is a necessity. Throughout the history of this ummah, the movement or the struggle of tajdid was instrumental in preventing the ummah from becoming weak and incompetent. In a sahih hadith reported by al-Imam Abu Daud, the Prophet s.a.w said: “Allah will raise for this community at the end of every hundred years someone who will restore its religion for it.”

All through the time, advocates of tajdid appeared one after another to carry out various endeavors and to confront different challenges. Tajdid was implemented in various fields for the wellbeing of the ummah. Caliphate ‘Umar bin ‘Abd al-‘Aziz was a prominent advocate of tajdid (mujaddid) based on the consensus of the ummah. After him, other scholars who were regarded as mujaddid appeared such as al-Imam al-Syafi’i (deceased in 204H), al-Imam Ibn Taimiyyah (deceased in 728H) and others.

The word ‘man’ or ‘someone’ as stated in the hadith above instigated different interpretations among the scholars. They debated whether the hadith implied that ‘someone’ will be sent for every century or a number of individuals will be sent but spread all over the place and in different countries, or if it implied any particular movement or the likes of it. Whatever it may be, it is more important to derive from this hadith that tajdid in Islam is necessary.

Tajdid does not denote the establishment of a new religion. There are two different definitions that can be assigned to tajdid. The first definition is to restore the religion’s original look just as we would restore the condition of something that has gone bad or has expired. Renewal or tajdid means that the situation and time renders it necessary to restore something to its original form. A practical exemplar is the renewal of our driving license or something similar. Basically, we have the original driving license but it has to undergo a renewal process because it is old or expired.

The second definition of tajdid is that it can also imply the innovation of certain element to fulfill contemporary need and requirement such as the innovation of modern vehicle. It has never been created before but it serves the same basic purpose required by humankind since the earliest of time that is to move from one place to another.

Therefore, in the context of Islam, innovation should be performed such that it does not change the religion but rather, it is to satisfy the new understanding or view brought about by the change in circumstances. However, it should not deviate from the essence and the requirement of al-Quran and al-Sunnah. In other words, the renewal of Islam refers to the restoration of the original look of Islam that is being practiced by the ummah because the look of Islam has been contaminated or neglected as time passes by and as circumstance varies. It can also refer to the construction of new understanding and new view to meet the contemporary requirement but is still centered upon the al-Quran and al-Sunnah.

In another hadith, the Prophet s.a.w said:

“This knowledge must be carried by those who are righteous among the successors (from one generation to another). They deny (oppose) the deviance performed by the extremists, the false claims made by the immorals and the interpretation done by the ignorants.” (Reported by al-Baihaqi, Ibn ‘Adi and others. Ranked by hasan by al-Imam Ahmad).

Al-Quran and al-Sunnah are adjustable sources of Islam. However, there are two major problems concerning these two divine sources, first is that they are contaminated and second is that they are misinterpreted. Al-Quran is being contaminated by the irresponsible ones who add elements of Israiliyyat and mythical stories to it though its preservation is guaranteed by Allah. To the untrained eyes, those stories that are linked to the al-Quran are considered funny and impractical.

This blunder is commonly done by a significant number of religious speakers who frequently appear in electronic media in our country. Similarly, throughout the history, thousands of fabricated hadith were created to for the sake of various parties or due to lack of knowledge. In Malaysia, hadith is being quoted and narrated haphazardly by many individuals to the extent that even comical or garbled stories are linked to hadith. All these require tajdid.

Akidah is the core of Islam. The akidah of Islam is simple and comprehensible, as simple as the concept of akidah described in Surah al-Ikhlas. One who reads the al-Quran will find the intelligibility of akidah of Islam described in it, in Surah al-An’am for instance. The explanation is not convoluted like some syllabus used to teach people the attributes of Allah that goes something like Allah is existent and the opposite is non-existent, Allah is hearing and the opposite is deaf, Allah is seeing and the opposite is blind. Many of the muslims, new and old, are not clear about akidah and can easily ‘switch their religion’ despite having memorized this syllabus. This is because the syllabus was based on philosophical thoughts that is not as solid as the simple and comprehensible akidah described by al-Quran and al-Sunnah. We need tajdid in this area.

In applying fiqh, mazhab fanaticism that is being passed down to us by some religious conservative is causing us to become a society that is ‘color-blind’ on facts or completely lacking of curiosity not questioning what are the basis for the religious practices being performed. We fail to ask if the religious practice originates from al-Quran and al-Sunnah or is a mere presumption. Even those who are fanatic to mazhab Syafi’i are not sure if the opinions they are upholding are indeed the opinions of al-Imam al-Syafi’I (deceased in 204H) or are only words that come out of people’s mouth.

Even more worrying is the fact that our fiqh comprehension that is lacking of supporting evidence or built on weak evidence leads to narrow-mindedness and imposes inconvenience to the ummah. Unnecessarily arduous rules that are not based on clear nas are enforced such as the direction to ‘purify’ the whole house issued by some quarters. In addition to lacking of clear nas, it is unreasonably burdening. The need to have a fiqh comprehension that is based on strong supporting evidence and is undemanding is a requirement in this era. In a hadith, the Prophet s.a.w said:

“Religion is very easy and whoever overburdens himself in his religion will not be able to continue in that way. So you should not be extremists, but try to be near to perfection and receive the good tidings that you will be rewarded.” (Reported by al-Bukhari)

Tazkiah al-Nafs or spiritual refinement that is being referred to by some people as tasawwuf is essential to the soul. However, a matter as delicate as that involving the spiritual bond of a person with Allah requires the guidance of al-Quran and al-Sunnah. If not, one will wander off and enter a world that is filled with philosophical words, dreams of the afterworld, stories of saints and the supernatural and various other strange philosophies. It no longer leads them to Allah but instead, it leads them into the messy domain of weird Sufism causing them to abandon their study on al-Quran as well as hadith and concentrate only on what their ‘tok syeikh (chief) says’. In this matter, tajdid is required.

Humankind needs politics to survive in a communal life. Islam has the guideline for that. However, because we have become so habituated to the Western politics, sometimes we are even worse than them, politics no longer brings forth happiness and tranquility to the ummah but it instigates nuisance, anxiety and other unpleasant states of mind. The application of Islam in our politics is hardly noticeable even by those who are spotting the Islamic brand or the likes of it. In this matter, tajdid is required.

A lot of the contemporary issues we are encountering these days were not known in the past. To ensure a continuous survival of the ummah, various new opinions are required to cater for the change that the ummah and the world are experiencing. The opinions of preceding theologians may not be wrong but have expired due to the change in time and circumstances. Therefore, tajdid to those opinions or formulation of new opinions that are still centered upon al-Quran and al-Sunnah are required and a must. Some of the nas from al-Quran and al-Sunnah has to be viewed in a much broader context in terms of its meaning and substance.

Therefore, obviously, the endeavor and movement that advocates tajdid is necessary for the ummah including us in Malaysia. This is regardless of the fact that every now and then, tajdid advocates are criticized and subjected to various slanders by those who are bothered by tajdid. Regarding this phenomenon, the Prophet s.a.w once said:

“Indeed Islaam began as something strange. And it will return as something strange the way it began. So give glad tidings to the strangers” He was asked, “Who are the strangers O Allah’s Apostle?” He answered, “Those who are righteous when the people have become corrupt.” (Reported by Ahmad, sahih)

Tebalkan ia dengan ilmu,

Suburkanlah ia kerana daripada situlah nantinya,mereka akan lihat nilaian dan keadilan,

Rasulullah s.a.w bersabda yang bermaksud: "Perumpamaan orang mukmin dalam kasih sayang, ramah mesra dan hubungan baik mereka adalah seperti satu jasad, apabila satu anggota padanya sakit akan menyebabkan semua anggota berjaga malam menahan sakit."

1. Umat Islam hendaklah hidup bersatu padu dan harmoni kerana ini merupakan kunci kekuatan ummah.

2. Sifat benci-membenci dan hasad dengki mesti dihapuskan kerana ia akan membawa kepada perpecahan dan kemunduran sebaliknya kita mestilah saling bantu membantu, mengambil berat dan berkerjasama demi meningkatkan pembangunan ummah.

3. Islam amat menyukai umatnya yang sanggup berkorban untuk saudaranya bahkan ganjaran bagi orang yang berbuat demikian adalah sangat besar di sisi Allah S.W.T.

p/s : Benci & dendam akhirnya memakan diri sendiri..kajian perubatan menunjukkan pelbagai penyakit dalaman yg kronik antara puncanya adalah kerana mengamalkan sifat-sifat berburuk sangka,membenci, marah meluap-luap dan lain-lain.

Puasa Umat Terdahulu by Nurman Indonisiy

Puasa telah dilakukan oleh umat-umat terdahulu. Kama kutiba 'alal ladzina min qablikum (Sebagaimana diwajibkan atas (umat-umat) yang sebelum kamu). Dari segi ajaran agama, para ulama menyatakan bahwa semua agama samawi, sama dalam prinsip-prinsip pokok akidah, syariat, serta akhlaknya. Ini berarti bahwa semua agama samawi mengajarkan keesaan Allah, kenabian, dan keniscayaan hari kemudian. Shalat, puasa, zakat, dan berkunjung ke tempat tertentu sebagai pendekatan kepada Allah adalah prinsip-prinsip syariat yang dikenal dalam agama-agama samawi. Tentu saja cara dan kaifiatnya dapat berbeda, namun esensi dan tujuannya sama.

Kita dapat mempertanyakan mengapa puasa menjadi kewajiban bagi umat islam dan umat-umat terdahulu?

Manusia memiliki kebebasan bertindak memilih dan memilah aktivitasnya, termasuk dalam hal ini, makan, minum, dan berhubungan seks. Binatang --khususnya binatang-binatang tertentu-- tidak demikian. Nalurinya telah mengatur ketiga kebutuhan pokok itu, sehingga --misalnya-- ada waktu atau musim berhubungan seks bagi mereka. Itulah hikmah Ilahi demi memelihara kelangsungan hidup binatang yang bersangkutan, dan atau menghindarkannya dari kebinasaan.

Manusia sekali lagi tidak demikian. Kebebasan yang dimilikinya bila tidak terkendalikan dapat menghambat pelaksanaan fungsi dan peranan yang harus diembannya. Kenyataan menunjukkan bahwa orang-orang yang memenuhi syahwat perutnya melebihi kadar yang diperlukan, bukan saja menjadikannya tidak lagi menikmati makanan atau minuman itu, tetapi juga menyita aktivitas lainnya kalau enggan berkata menjadikannya lesu sepanjang hari.

Syahwat seksual juga demikian. Semakin dipenuhi semakin haus bagaikan penyakit eksim semakin digaruk semakin nyaman dan menuntut, tetapi tanpa disadari menimbulkan borok.

Potensi dan daya manusia --betapa pun besarnya-- memiliki keterbatasan, sehingga apabila aktivitasnya telah digunakan secara berlebihan ke arah tertentu --arah pemenuhan kebutuhan faali misalnya-- maka arah yang lain, --mental spiritual-- akan terabaikan. Nah, di sinilah diperlukannya pengendalian. Sebagaimana disinggung di atas, esensi puasa adalah menahan atau mengendalikan diri. Pengendalian ini diperlukan oleh manusia, baik secara individu maupun kelompok. Latihan dan pengendalian diri itulah esensi puasa.

Puasa dengan demikian dibutuhkan oleh semua manusia, kaya atau miskin, pandai atau bodoh, untuk kepentingan pribadi atau masyarakat. Tidak heran jika puasa telah dikenal oleh umat-umat sebelum umat Islam, sebagaimana diinformasikan oleh Al-Quran.

Dari penjelasan ini, kita dapat melangkah untuk menemukan salah satu jawaban tentang rahasia pemilihan bentuk redaksi pasif dalam menetapkan kewajiban puasa. Kutiba 'alaikumush shiyama (diwajibkan atas kamu puasa), tidak menyebut siapa yang mewajibkannya?

Bisa saja dikatakan bahwa pemilihan bentuk redaksi tersebut disebabkan karena yang mewajibkannya sedemikian jelas dalam hal ini adalah Allah Swt. Tetapi boleh jadi juga untuk mengisyaratkan bahwa seandainya pun bukan Allah yang mewajibkan puasa, maka manusia yang menyadari manfaat puasa, dan akan mewajibkannya atas dirinya sendiri. Terbukti motivasi berpuasa (tidak makan atau mengendalikan diri) yang selama ini dilakukan manusia, bukan semata-mata atas dorongan ajaran agama. Misalnya demi kesehatan, atau kecantikan tubuh, dan bukankah pula kepentingan pengendalian diri disadari oleh setiap makhluk yang berakal?

Di sisi lain bukankah Nabi Saw. bersabda, "Seandainya umatku mengetahui ( semua keistimewaan ) yang dikandung oleh Ramadhan, niscaya mereka mengharap seluruh bulan menjadi Ramadhan."

Kelebihan Menuntut Ilmu

Sesungguhnya menuntut ilmu itu banyak suruhan dan kelebihannya, namun terdapat dalil-dalil yang emnunjukkan kelebihan menuntut ilmu di dalam Al-Quran dan juga sunnah Nabi SAW yang bermaksud: “Sesungguhnya sesutu bab daripada ilmu yang dipelajari oeleh seorang lelaki terlebih baik baginya daripada dunia dan apa yang di dalamnya” dan firman Allah Taala ertinya : “Maka tanya olehmu akan orang yang ahli zikri (orang yang alim) jikalau kamu tidak mengetahui”.

Di samping itu terdapat juga fadhilat-fadhilat menuntut ilmu yang terlebih baik daripada beribadat sunat yang disabdakan oleh Nabi SAW ertinya : “Demi Tuhan bahawa jika kamu pergi menuntut ilmu daripada sesuatu bab terlebih baik daripada kamusembahyang seratus rakaat,” dan terdapat juga daripada hadis Abi Zarr RA katanya ertinya: “Setiap permulaan daripada orang yang mengajar ilmunya itu terlebih afdhal daripada sembahyang seribu rakaat dan mengunjungi seribu orang sakit dan menghantar seribu jenazah kemudian ditanya Rasulullah: Adakah ia terlebih afdhal daripada membaca Al-Quran dijawabnya : “Tidak manfaat membaca Al-Quran itu tanpa ilmu.” Seperti kata Imam Syafie RA, menuntut ilmu itu terlebih baik daripada sembahyang sunat. Dan Abu Darda’ juga telah berkata: “Demi Tuhanku bahawasanya aku belajar sesuatu ilmu terlebih kasih bagiku daripada beribadat setiap malam (qiamullail).

Di samping itu, banyak hadis yang disabdakan oleh Nabi SAW tentang kematian orang dalam menuntut ilmu antaranya, “Barangsiapa yang mati di dalam keadaan menuntut ilmu untuk menghidupkan agama Islam, maka antaranya dan antara nabi-nabi di dalam Syurga adalah satu darjat.” Saidina Umar RA telah berkata sesungguhnya mati seribu orang yang kuat beribadat setiap malam kepada Allah Taala dan berpuasa setiap hari terlebih mudah daripada mati seorang yang alim atau mengetahui perkara-perkara yang dihalalkan dan diharamkan oleh Allah.

Namun begitu, Nabi SAW juga telah menggariskan kepada beberapa peringkat kelebihan ilmu dengan sabda Baginda, “Sesungguhnya ilmu itu adalah umpama gedung dan anak kuncinya adalah pertanyaan, maka tanyalah kerana diberi pahala kepada empat jenis orang di dalam ilmu pertama, kepada orang yang suka bertanya akan sesuatu ilmu, kedua kepada orang yang mengetahui sesuatu ilmu dan mengajar ketiga kepada orang yang mendengar orang yang mengajar ilmu keempat kepada orang yang suka dan kasih akan majlis ilmu. Dan Atta’ telah berkata sesungguhnya perhimpunan orang yang duduk di dalam majlis ilmu itu iaitu menghapuskan tujuh puluh perhimpunan majlis lagha (sia-sia).

Meneliti kepada kepentingan ilmu seperti yang tersurat, maka seharusnya bagi kita sebagai ummah terbaik mengambil kesempatan berharga di dalam kehidupan ini merancakkan lagi pemburuan ilmu. Mudah-mudahan masa yang berbaki dimanfaatkan seoptimum mungkin demi masa depan dakwah yang semakin mencabar.

رسالة قيام رمضان

إن الحمد لله نحمده ونستعينه ونستغفره ، ونعوذ بالله من شرور أنفسنا وسيئات أعمالنا ، من يهد الله فلا مضل له ، ومن يضلل فلا هادي له ، وأشهد أن لا إله إلا الله وحده لا شريك له ، وأشهد أن محمداً عبده ورسوله .أما بعد، فقد صح عن ابن مسعود موقوفاً ، وهو مرفوع إلى النبي r حُكْماً ، أنه قال:
( كيف أنتم إذا لبستكم فتنة يهرم فيها الكبير ، ويربو فيها الصغير ، ويتخذها الناس سنة ، إذا منها شيء قيل : تركت السنة ؟ قالوا : ومتى ذاك ؟ قال : إذا ذهبت علماؤكم ، وكثرت قُراؤكم ، وقَـلَّـت فقهاؤكم ، وكَـثُرت أمراؤكم ، وقلَّتْ أمناؤكم ، والتـُمِسَتِ الدنيا بعمل الآخرة ، وتُـفُـقهَ لغير الدين )(

.قلت : وهذا الحديث من أعلام نبوته r وصدق رسالته ، فإن كل فقرة من فقراته ، قد تحقق في العصر الحاضر ، ومن ذلك كثرة البدع وافتتان الناس بها حتى اتخذوها سنة ، وجعلوها ديناً يُـتَّبع ، فإذا أعرض عنها أهل السنة حقيقة ، إلى السنة الثابتة عنه r قيل : تُركت السنة ! وهذا هو الذي أصابنا نحن أهل السنة في الشام ، حينما أحْيَـيْـنا سنة صلاة التراويح إحدى عشرة ركعة مع المحافظة فيها على الاطمئنان والخشوع والأذكار المتنوعة الثابتة عنه r، بقدر الإمكان ، الأمر الذي ضيعته جماهير المحافظين على صلاتها بعشرين ركعة ، ومع ذلك فقدت ثائرتهم ، وقامت قيامتُهم حينما أصدرنا رسالتنا "صلاة التراويح" (

، وهي الرسالة الثانية من رسائل كتابنا "تسديد الإصابة إلى من زعم نصرة الخلفاء الراشدين والصحابة" ، لما رأوا ما فيها تحقيق :
1- أن النبي r لم يُصَل التراويح من إحدى عشرة ركعة .
2- وأن عمر رضي الله عنه أمر أٌبَيَّا وتميماً الداري أن يصليا بالناس التراويح إحدى عشرة ركعة وفق السنة الصحيحة .
3- وأن رواية : أن الناس كانوا يقومون على عهد عمر في رمضان بعشرين ركعة ، رواية شاذة ضعيفة مخالفة لرواية الثقات الذين قالوا : إحدى عشرة ركعة ؛ وأن عمر رضي الله عنه أمر بها .
4- وأن الرواية الشاذة لو صحت لكان الأخذ بالرواية الصحيحة أولى لموافقتها للسنة في العدد، وأيضاً ؛ فإنه ليس فيها أن عمر أمر بالعشرين ، وإنما الناس فعلوا ذلك ، بخلاف الرواية الصحيحة ففيها أنه أمر بإحدى عشرة ركعة .
5- وأنها لو صحت أيضاً لم يلزم من ذلك التزام العمل بها ، وهجر العمل بالرواية الصحيحة المطابقة للسنة بحيث يعد العامل بالسنة خارجاً عن الجماعة ! بل غاية ما يستفاد منها جواز العشرين مع القطع بأن ما فعله r وواظب عليه هو الأفضل .
6- وبينا فيها أيضاً عدم ثبوت العشرين عن أحد من الصحابة الأكرمين .
7- وبطلان دعوى من ادعى أنهم أجمعوا على العشرين .
8- وبينا أيضاً الدليل الموجب لالتزام العدد الثابت في السنة ، ومن أنكر الزيادة عليه من العلماء ، وغيره من الفوائد التي قلما توجد مجموعة في كتاب .كل ذلك بأدلة واضحة من السنة الصحيحة ، والآثار المعتمدة ، الأمر الذي أثار علينا حملة شعواء من جماعة من المشايخ المقلدة ، بعضهم في خطبهم ودروسهم ، وبعضهم في رسائل ألفوها في الرد(

على رسالتنا السابقة ، وكلها قَفْراء من العلم النافع ، والحجة الدالة عليه ، بل هي مُسَوةٌ بالسباب والشتائم ، كما هي عادة المبطلين حينما يثورون على الحق وأهله ، ولذلك لم نر كبير فائدةٍ في أن نضيع وقتنا بالرد عليهم ، وبيان عوار كلامهم ؛ لأن العمر أقصر من أن يتسع لذلك لكثرتهم ، هداهم الله تعالى أجمعين .

KITA terlalu banyak memikirkan apa yang berada di luar kita. Ramai orang menginginkan orang lain berubah.

Malah, kadang-kadang kita berkeinginan tetapi tidak kesampaian. Kita mahu negara kita berubah. Kita mahu orang berubah, kita bercita-cita mahu ubah pekerja kita tetapi malangnya anak isteri kita tidak mampu diubah.

Kenapa kita tidak mampu mengubah orang lain? Antara sebabnya kita tidak pernah memberi masa bersungguh-sungguh untuk mengubah diri sendiri.

Rahsia mengubah orang ialah dengan mengubah diri sendiri. Betapa besar pun hasrat untuk mengubah orang lain sekiranya tidak dimulakan dengan diri sendiri ia akan menjadi hampa.

Kadangkala hasrat untuk mengubah orang lain akan menjadi bahan ketawa. Orang di sekeliling kita akan menyaksikan cakap tidak serupa bikin yang kita laungkan.

Sebagai perbandingan elok juga kita fikirkan perbandingan ini. Kalau kita hendak membina rumah apalah ertinya kita memikirkan dinding, pintu dan atap sekiranya tapak tidak kita bina.

“Mulakan dengan dirimu,” kata pepatah Arab. Inilah kunci orang yang berjaya. Berani mengejek itu mudah,berani berhujah itu mudah tetapi tidak ramai orang yang berani melihat kekurangan diri sendiri.

Ramai orang berani melihat kekurangan orang tetapi jarang orang berani membincangkan kelemahan dirisendiri.

Sebenarnya mengubah diri dengan penuh sedar adalah juga mengubah orang lain. Walaupun tidak sepatah katakita ucapkan untuk ubah orang lain, perbuatannya yang berubah itu menjadi ucapan yang sangat bererti bagiorang lain.

Memang pengaruh dari kegigihan mengubah diri tidak akan spontan dirasakan. Tetapi percayalah ia akan membekas dalam minda orang lain.

Makin lama orang akan simpati dan terdorong juga untuk turut sama berubah. Lantas bagaimana kaedah mengubah diri?

Pertama: Mulalah dengan mengubah diri sendiri.Bagaimana mungkin kita mengajak orang berubah sedangkan kita tidak berubah. Jadilah seperti 'ketam mengajar anak berjalan betul' nanti cakap tidak serupa bikin.

Kedua: Mulakan dengan melakukan perkara yang kecil.Perkara yang kecil-kecil jika dilazimi akan membantu dan memudahkan untuk melakukan yang besar-besar.Sikit-sikit lama-lama jadi bukit.

Perkara yang kecil jika sering diabaikan nanti berjangkit yang besar pun akan mudah diingkari. Banjir besar diawali dengan titik-titik hujan yang kecil.

Ketiga: Mulakan sekarang (Do it now). Jangan bertangguh lagi. Semakin bertangguh semakin melarat.Masalah yang kecil-kecil akan jadi besar jika dibiarkan.

Keempat: Paksa diri dengan sepenuh hati. Nafsu jika tidak dipaksa nanti jadi degil.

Kelima: Belajar menghukum diri sendiri. Kalangan sahabat pernah menghukum diri dengan berpuasa kerana mengumpat.

Keenam: Kena ulang dan ulang dan ulang dan ulang dan ulang kebaikan sehingga sebati dengan diri. Wassalam.

sentiasa dalam keadaan yang paling menarik setiap
masa. Tanggapan pertama adalah yang terpenting.

9. Untuk lelaki, tarikan pertama ialah pakaiannya.
Untuk perempuan, wajah dan bentuk badan menjadi
tarikan pertama. Sediakan diri untuk menawan bakal
pasangan anda.

10. Buka hati dan minda anda untuk menerima cinta.
Cinta boleh berputik pada bila-bila masa. Cinta
mudah datang kepada mereka yang sentiasa
bersedia untuk menerima cinta.

Perempuan Memang Tak Guna an...

Saya percaya bahawa apabila anda mula-mula membaca tajuknya, dan membacanya mengikut intonasi yang betul, anda tersangat tidak bersetuju. Sebelum anda mengatakan rasa tidak puas hati itu, eloklah dahulu bertenang dan baca dengan teliti semua fakta yang dikemukakan. Jika ada mana-mana point yang tidak tepat, sila betulkan saya. (boleh hantar pada ruangan komen dibawah)

1.Perempuan itu tidak guna kain yang
nipis untuk membuat bajunya, sehingga
terbayang kulitnya. Kerana dia tahu,
bahawa pakaian seperti itu adalah
pakaian yg layak dipakai oleh
perempuan jalang.

2. Perempuan memang tidak guna rantai
kaki yang berloceng utk dililitkan
pada kakinya. Rantai ini apabila
dipakai walaupun tersembunyi tetap
bergemerincing dan menarik perhatian
orang lain, lebih-lebih lagi lelaki
JAHAT. Dia tahu sekiranya dia
memakainya juga dia telah melanggar
larangan Allah dalam ayat 31 surah An-
Nur.

3. Perempuan memang tidak guna minyak
wangi yang baunya semerbak. Wangian
sebegini mempunyai kuasa penyerakan
bau yang amat tinggi kerana kadar
kemeruwapannya tinggi. Biasanya
kekuatan bau ini menunjukkan kadar
kekompleksan rantai alcohol (secara
kimia) yg digunakan utk membuat
pewangi itu. Perempuan yang tidak
memakai wangian yang kuat ini tahu
bahawa inilah yang dipesan oleh nabi.
Sabda junjungan bahawa wanita yang
keluar rumah dgn memakai wangian,
adalah seperti pelacur. Bukan tidak
boleh berwangi-wangi tetapi
bersederhanalah dlm pemakaian wangian
tersebut.

4. Perempuan memang tidak guna kata-
kata yang keji, kerana dia tahu
sesiapa sahaja yang bercakap perkara
yang keji adalah mereka yang rendah
akhlaknya. Lelaki atau perempuan yang
bercakap menggunakan perkataan yang
buruk @ jahat, adalah seperti sepohon
pokok yang rosak akar tunjangnya. Dia
tahu bahawa perumpamaan perkataan yang
baik dan buruk dinyatakan dengan jelas
dalam ayat 24-26 surah Ibrahim.

5. Perempuan tidak guna masa berborak
untuk mengatakan hal-hal orang yang
disekitarnya atau dengan kata lain
mengumpat, memperkatakan keabaian
saudaranya. Dia tahu bahawa sekiranya
orang yang suka mengumpat baik lelaki
atau perempuan dia seolah-olah memakan
daging saudaranya sendiri. Apakah
sanggup kita memakan daging saudara
sendiri? Persoalan ini ditanyakan
kepada kita dalam firmanNya ayat 12.
surah al-Hujurat.

6. Perempuan memang tidak guna tudung
tiga segi, apabila memakainya
diselempangkannya sehingga nyata
bentuk perbukitan pada badannya
(tudung siput babi). Sememangnya ia
menjadi tatapan mata lelaki yang jahat
yang terkena panahan syaitan. Dia tahu
apabila bertudung, dia mesti
melabuhkan tudungnya sehingga menutup
alur lehernya dan tidak menampakkan
bentuk di bahagian dadanya. Pesan
Rasul seperti yang disuruh oleh Allah
tersebut dalam ayat 59 al-Ahzab.
Begitu juga seorang lelaki yang
bergelar suami mesti memberi
peringatan untuk isteri dan anak-
anaknya.

7. Perempuan memang tidak guna lenggok
bahasa yang boleh menggoda seorang
lelaki. Jika bercakap dengan lelaki
yang bukan mahramnya, bercakaplah
dengan tegas. Jangan biarkan suara
lentukku untuk menarik perhatian
lelaki yang sakit dalam hatinya.
Sememangnya suara perempuan bukanlah
aurat, jika aurat maka Allah tidak
akan menjadikan perempuan boleh
berkata-kata. Bertegaslah dalam
percakapan, jangan gunakan suaramu
untuk menarik perhatian lelaki
sehingga menjadi fitnah buatmu. Bahaya
suara wanita yang bercakap dengan gaya
membujuk yang boleh mencairkan keegoan
lelaki (yg bukan mahramnya) dicatat
dalam ayat 32 surah al-Ahzab. Makna
ayatnya lebih kurang begini"Maka
janganlah kamu tunduk dlm berbicara
sehingga berkeinginanlah orang yang
ada penyakit dlm hatinya dan
ucapkanlah perkataan yang baik"
'Tunduk' di sini ditafsirkan sbg
berbicara dgn sikap yang boleh
menimbulkan keberanian orang untuk
bertindak jahat kpd mereka. "Penyakit
dlm hati" adalah keinginan seorang
lelaki utk melakukan perbuatan sumbang
dgnnya seperti berzina. Mengapa?
Lelaki sangat mudah tertarik kpd
seorang wanita melalui suaranya.

8. Perempuan memang tidak guna alat
make-up untuk menonjolkan
kejelitaannya melainkan di hadapan
suaminya sahaja. Adab bersolek
(tabarruj) ini amat ditekankan kepada
wanita muslim (muslimah) kerana
semestinya kecantikannya adalah hak
ekslusif yang mesti persembahkan
kepada suaminya. Jika ingin keluar
bekerja, dia memakai make-up secara
bersederhana sahaja sehingga tidak
jelas kelihatan pada wajahnya dia
bersolek. Jangan bersolek sehingga
cantiknya anda sehingga kadang2 wajah
anda menjadi seperti hantu. Hendak
bergincu? Jika bergincu, pakailah yg
tidak menyerlah warnanya. atau Mengapa
tidak pakai lipstick sahaja?

9. Perempuan tidak guna kain tudung
yang jarang-jarang seperti jarangnya
jala yang digunakan untuk memukat
haiwan akuatik. Kerana apabila memakai
tudung seperti ini, akan nampak juga
bahagian yang sepatutnya ditutup rapi
dari pandangan orang lain. Rambut
adalah mahkota, tetapi jangan biarkan
mahkota itu tidak 'berharga' dengan
menayangkannya tanpa sebarang
perlindungan. Jika mahkota berharga
disimpan dengan rapi di dlam sangkar,
dan ditambah pula pengwal untuk
menjaga keselamatannya, maka demikian
juga dengan rambut wanita. Sangkar itu
adalah kain litup yang sempurna dan
pengawalnya pula adalah ilmu yang
diamalkan oleh anda untk memakainya
dengan
cara yang terbaik

Cerita film ketika cinta bertasbih ini merupakan adopsi dari novel dengan judul yang sama dari novelis Habibburahman El Shirazy, dimana proses audisi untuk film ketika cinta bertasbih ini sudah dilakukan sejak sekitar satu tahun yang lalu. Film Ketika Cinta Bertasbih menfokuskan pada perjalanan tokoh Khairul Azzam (M. Kholidi Asadil Alam), seorang mahasiswa Indonesia yang menuntut ilmu di UniversitinAl Azhar Cairo-Mesir. LONDON (AFP) – Millvina Dean, the last remaining survivor of the sinking of the Titanic in 1912, died in a care home in England on Sunday, media reports said. She was 97.
Elizabeth Gladys Dean, known to friends as Millvina, was only nine weeks old when the liner hit an iceberg in the Atlantic Ocean on the night of April 14, 1912, and sank killing 1,500 people.
She survived after being bundled up in a sack and carried to safety. Her mother Georgette Eva and brother Bertram also made it, but her father, Bertram Frank, was among those who died.
Dean died in a private nursing home near Ashurst in the southern English county of Hampshire, according to the BBC and Britain's domestic Press Association news agency. Staff there refused to comment late Sunday.
Dean's family had boarded the Titanic at Southampton, heading for a new life in Kansas where her father hoped to open a tobacconist shop.
Born on February 12, 1912, Dean was the youngest passenger on board. At the time, RMS Titanic was the most luxurious, most technically advanced and largest passenger liner in the world.
She was dubbed "unsinkable", but it took just two hours and 40 minutes for her to disappear into the icy waters of the Atlantic after striking an iceberg at 11:40 pm on April 14.
Dean was taken back to Southampton with her family after the disaster and did not find out that she had been on board until she was eight years old and her mother was planning to remarry.
According to enthusiasts' website Encyclopedia Titanica (ET), Dean worked for the government as a cartographer during World War II and then for an engineering company.
She told reporters that it was not until the wreckage of the liner was found in 1985 that she suddenly became a celebrity, taking part in documentaries and giving media interviews.
Dean was invited to complete her family's ill-fated journey to the United States in 1997 aboard the QE2, and accepted, although she turned down an offer to attend the premier of the movie "Titanic" because it would be too upsetting.
She moved into a private nursing home in Hampshire after breaking her hip three years ago, and after struggling to pay the bills was forced to sell off some of her memorabilia.
At auction in October 2008 she raised 31,150 pounds (40,000 euros, 53,900 dollars), selling off rare prints of the liner signed by the artists as well as compensation letters sent to her mother by the Titanic Relief Fund.
Dean was also forced to sell a 100-year-old suitcase filled with clothes donated to her family by the people of New York when they arrived after being rescued.
In the wake of the auction, friends including members of the British Titanic Society and the Belfast Titanic Society -- the liner was built in Belfast in Northern Ireland-- set up a campaign to secure her future.
Among the donors to the Millvina Fund were Hollywood actors Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio, who starred in the 1997 "Titanic" film. The pair and the film's director, James Cameron, reportedly donated 30,000 US dollars in total.
The last remaining US survivor, Lillian Asplund, died in her home in May 2006 at the age of 99. She was just five years old when the Titanic went down.

Mak.....

Terlalu bosan rasanya duduk membilang hari.....Dah hampir sepuluh bulan mak pergi,Rasanya baru semalam mak peluk kiter kan sejuk syahdu masih terasa lagi nih....

Mak tau tak....itu lah pertama kali mak peluk anak mak yang nakal ni sejak kiter dewasa.....dan itu juga terakhir kali nya.Emmmm...rupanya mak dah tau mak nak pergi jauh.....nak tinggal kan anak2 mak..... nak tinggal kan dunia fana ni.....

Mak macam dah sedia.....Seminggu sebelum tu.....mak dah menganyam tikar mengkuang 3 helai.....Akak kata sampai ke pagi mak anyam tikar tuu.....tanpa rasa mengantuk, tanpa rasa letih.....kakak pun rasa hairan.....mak tak penah buat gitu.....

pastu mak pasang radio kecil di sebelah mak.....tapi mak seolah2 tak sedar bahawa rancangan radio tu siaran siam ......kengkadang siaran indonesia ...mak terus tekun menganyam...Rupanya tikar yang telah mak siapkan tu di gunakan untuk mengiringi mak ke kuburan...

Pastu mak sapu sampah sekeliling rumah bersih2....pastu mak jemur karpet-karpet. ..pastu mak ubahkan sofa ke tempat lain..mak biarkan ruang tu kosong..rupanya kat situ jenazah mak diletakkan..

paling menarik sekali mak bgtau kat maner sume duit dan barang kemas mak..ada kat dalam almari.....ada kat dalam dalam beg.....ada dalam ASB.....ada kat dalam Tabung Haji..mak cakap tak berapa cukup lagi....ada kat dalam gulung tikar.....

masa tu mak perasan takk..??kiter gelak sakan bila mak bgtau duit dalam gulung tikar...kiter kata mak ni memang pesenn lama laaa...mak cuma gelak jer...eeemmm..bahagiaa nya saat ituu..

Hari tu hari sabtu 18/08/1999 pukul 3 petang mak tiba2 sakit perut.....bila malam tu kiter sampai dari KL.....mak dah dalam kesakitan.Akak dan abang kat kampong semua dah pujuk.....mak tetap takmau pi hospital....dan cuma tinggal giliran kiter sahaja yang belum pujuk..Mak kata mak takmau duduk dalam hospital.... .tapi kiter berkeras juga pujukk..nanti di hospital ada doktor...ada ubat untuk mak..kat rumah kami hanya mampu sapu minyak dan urut jer..

Mak tetap tak bersetuju... ..mak memang degil..tak salah, anak mak yang ni pon mengikut perangai mak tu..Tapi akhirnya bila melihat keadaan mak makin teruk.....mak sakit perut sampai nak sentuh perut mak pon sakit kami adik beradik sepakat hantar juga mak ke hospital.... ..

Mak.....amponkan kami semua..kami nak mak sehat...kami sayang mak...kami tak mau mak sakit...kami terpaksa juga hantar mak ke hospital....ampon kan kami yer mak...

Mak.....Malam itu abang bawa mak ke hospitaldan itu lah pertama dan terakhir kali mak naik kereta kiter...Masih terbayang betapa ceria dan gembiranya mak, kiter kata nak beli kereta...Mak asyik tanya ajer..cukup ker duitt..kiter jawab pula...kalau tak cukup, mak kan banyak duit...mak gelak ajerr.....

Lepas tu bila kereta kiter sampai....mak buat kenduri kesyukuran.. ....Dan kiter masih ingat lagi...bila kiter eksiden terlanggar Ah-Chong naik motor.....Punya la kiter takut...kiter warning kakak kiter jangan sesekali bgtau kat mak.....Bila balik sahaja kampong....kiter cepat-cepat simpan keta dalam garaj.....Tapi mak perasan juga bumper depan kemek...mak tanya kenapa...?Selamba jerr kiter jawab terlangar pokok bunga....

Mak....tujuan kiter menipu tu supaya mak tak risau...Maafkan kiter kerana sampai mak pergi mak tak tau hal sebenar...mak, kiter menipu mak kan ...ampon kan kiter....

Mak......Jam 4.30 pagi 19/08 /2006Bila tiba aja kat hospital....nurse tengah balut mak dengan kain putih....mak mesti nampak kiter jatuh terduduk di lantai hospital...Mesti mak nampak abang cium dahi mak.....Mesti mak nampak akak baca doa untuk mak....Mesti mak nampak adik terduduk kat kerusi kat sudut itu..mesti mak nampak semua tu kann...kann. .kannn

Mak tau tak...Pagi tu balik dari hospital jam 5.20 pagi kiter mamandu dalam keadaan separuh sedar...Adik kat sebelah diam melayan perasann...Kenangan bersama mak berputar dalam kepala ini...jalan di depan terasa makin kelam.....airmata dah tak mampu di tahan.....Masa tu seandainya apa-apa terjadi di jalan itu kiter rela..Namun alhamdulillah akhirnya kiter sampai juga...di sebab kan pagi masih awal, jadi jalan tu lenggang..kosong. ...sekosong hati ini.....Sepanjang perjalanan terasa kedinginan subuh itu lain benar suasananya.......

Mak.....Kiter masih ingat lagi...Kiter baca AlQuran kat tepi mak temankan mak...Jam 11.00 pagi mak di mandi kan .....Anak2 mak yang pangku masa mak mandi.....Mak mesti rasa betapa lembut nya kami mengosok seluruh tubuh mak......Kiter gosok kaki mak perlahan lahan.....Mak perasan tak...?

Makcik yang mandikan mak tu pujuk kiter.....Dia kata..." dikk...jangan nangis...kalau sayang mak jangan buat gitu...jangan nangis ya.."Bila makcik tu kata gitu...lagi laaaa laju airmata ni..tapi kiter kawal supaya tak menitik atas mak....

Mak....Sampai takat ini surat ni kiter tulis.....kiter nangis ni.....Ni kat dlm bilik...baru pukul 4.00 pagi....Takder orang yang bangun lagi.....kiter dengar nasyid tajuk "anak soleh" kiter sedih...kiter rindu kat mak..!Takpa la....nanti bila kita selesai sembanyang subuh, kiter baca yassin untuk mak...mak tunggu ya..!

Mak.....Sebelum muka mak di tutup buat selamanya... .Semua anak2 mak mengelilingi mak...menatap wajah mak buat kali terakhir....Semua orang kata mak seolah2 senyum aja...Mak rasa tak....masa tu kiter sentuh dahi mak....kiter rasa sejukkkk sangat dahi makk.....Kiter tak mampu nak cium mak...kiter tak daya....kiter tuliskan kalimah tauhid kat dahi mak dengan air mawar...Airmata kiter tak boleh tahan....Mak mesti ingat kan yang anak mak ni jadi imam solat jenazah untuk mak...tapi kite suruh tok imam bacakan doa sebab kite sebak....

Jam 12 tengahari mak diusung keluar dari rumah.....Akak pula dah terkulai dlm pelukan makcik...badan akak terasa panas...

Mak tauu...cuma akak sorang saja anak mak yang tak mengiringi mak ke tanah perkuburan.

Mak.....Hari2 ku lalui tanpa kewujudan mak lagi...Begitu terasa kehilangan mak..boleh kata setiap malam selepas maghrib anak mak ini berendam airmata...Dan sampai satu tahap....masa tu malam jumaat selepas maghrib...Selepas kiter baca yassin ngan kawan-kawan. ....entah kenapa biler kat bilik kiter keluarkan gambar2 mak pastu apa lagi...

semakin kiter tenung terasa semakin sayu...tangisan tak dapat dibendung...

Mak tauu...kiter cuba bertahan...memujuk diri sendiri tapi tak juga reda...Kiter rasa nak telefon mak...nak cakap dengan mak....anak mak yang ni dah tak betul kan ...?Dan akhirnya dalam sedu sedan itu kiter telefon kampong...Kiter cakap dengan kakak..kiter nangis lagi...Puas la kakak memujuk kiter...Akak kata..." tak baik laa nangis aje..doa lah untuk mak.."Dan akhirnya akak juga nangis....

Mak tau tak..di saat itu kerinduan terasa menusuk sehingga ke hulu hati...rasa nyilu sangat...menusuk-nusuk sehingga terasa begitu sakit dalam dada ni....Sampai sekarang bila kerinduan itu menjelma...hanya sedekah al-fatihah kiter berikan.....

Mak.....cukup la sampai sini dulu...kawan kiter dah ketuk pintu bilik tu....kejap lagi kami nak pergi solat subuh kat masjid...selalunya, kiter yang bawak mak naik motor kan ....kali ni kiter jalan kaki dengan kawan pulak..esok kiter ingat nak tulis surat kat ayah pula....

Mula2 kiter tak tau nak hantar mana surat nih...pastu kawan kiter bgtau....simpan je buat kenangan..Kiter cuma tau alamat ni aje...Takper yer mak...

Belajar Tanpa Guru Umpama Belajar Dengan Syaitan?

Sering kali kita mendengar apabila seseorang itu belajar dengan kitab sahaja tanpa bimbingan guru maka ia dianggap boleh jadi sesat kerana belajar tanpa guru maka yang ketiganya adalah syaitan. Itu semua hanyalah gimik belaka untuk menakut-nakutkan manusia malah tiada hadis sahih yang mengatakan belajar tanpa guru umpama belajar dengan syaitan.Bagaimana kita boleh begitu pasti mereka kemungkinan boleh jadi sesat sedangkan apa yang kita lihat sekarang kebanyakannya yang berguru adalah yang sesat. Lihat sajalah senarai ajaran-ajaran sesat yang telah diwartakan oleh JAKIM kebanyakannya adalah berguru. Maka mana yang benarnya belajar dengan guru atau tanpa guru?Adakah kerana apabila ada guru maka apabila berlaku kesilapan pada anak murid, maka guru tersebut boleh membetulkan? Itu memang tidak dapat dinafikan tapi adakah guru itu semua apa yang diperkatakannya betul? Jika dah guru itu sesat diajarnya lagi ajarannya tidak sesatkah anak muridnya? Mana anda mahu pilih guru yang hanya mengajar tanpa membawa hujjah yang kukuh atau belajar dengan satu kitab ulamak yang diketahui kejujurannya, amanahnya, ketsiqahannya dan ketinggian ilmunya?Sebenarnya kedua-duanya adalah sama samaada berguru atau tidak tapi mestilah ada keikhlasan dan tidak ada sikap taksub pada kitab atau guru tersebut. Tapi yang berguru diberi keutamaan.Yang penting mendahulukan Al-Quran dan sunnah daripada guru. Rasulullah bersabda:"Aku tinggalkan kepada kamu dua perkara yang jika kamu berpegang padanya tidaklah kamu akan sesat selamanya iaitu kitab Allah (Al-Quran) dan sunnah rasulnya".(Riwayat Malik dalam Muwatha no.898 ).Maka jelas selagi kita berpegang dan mendahulukan Al-Quran dan sunnah dari segala-galanya dalam sesuatu perkara maka Rasulullah s.a.w mengatakan "tidaklah kamu akan tersesat selama-lamanya".Syaikh Muhammad bin Shalih Al-Utsaimin pernah ditanya tentang perkara tersebut. Beliau menjawab:"Tidak diragui lagi bahawa ilmu boleh diperolehi dengan mempelajarinya daripada para ulama dan daripada kitab. Ini kerana, kitab seorang ulama adalah ulama itu sendiri, dia berbicara kepadamu tentang isi kitab itu. Jika tidak dapat menuntut ilmu daripada ahli ilmu maka dia boleh mencari ilmu daripada kitab. Akan tetapi memperolehi ilmu melalui ulama lebih dekat (mudah) daripada memperolehi ilmu melalui kitab, ini kerana orang yang memperolehi ilmu melalui kitab akan banyak menemui kesulitan dan memerlukan kesungguhan yang besar, dan akan banyak perkara yang akan dia fahami secara samar sebagaimana terdapat di dalam kaidah syar�iyyah dan batasan yang ditetapkan oleh para ulama. Maka dia hendaklah mempunyai tempat rujukan di kalangan ahli ilmu semampu mungkin.Adapun perkataan yang menyatakan: "Barangsiapa yang gurunya adalah kitabnya maka kesalahannya akan lebih banyak dari pada benarnya." Perkataan ini tidak benar secara mutlak, tetapi juga tidak salah secara mutlak. Jika seseorang mengambil ilmu daripada semua kitab yang dia lihat, maka tidak diragukan lagi bahawa dia akan banyak melakukan kesalahan. Adapun orang yang mempelajarinya bersandarkan kepada kitab-kitab orang-orang yang telah dikenal ketsiqahannya, amanahnya, dan ilmunya, maka dalam hal ini dia tidak akan banyak salah bahkan dia akan banyak benarnya dalam perkataannya.' [link]Agama ini perlu dilihat dari segi hujjah kerana islam datang dengan hujjah. Hujjah mesti beserta dengan ilmu yang terang dan nyata bukannya kerana dia seorang aliran agama dan tahu bahasa arab maka itu adalah hujjah. Itu semua hanyalah tipu daya syaitan untuk mengelirukan manusia. Yang penting kefahaman tentang islam dan mempunyai fakta yang kukuh seperti mana yang dikatakan oleh Dr Asri Zainul Abidin:"Hari ini ramai profesional yang tidak bergelar ustaz tetapi lebih mantap ilmunya daripada yang bergelar ustaz. Lihat seperti moderator fikrah.net; Tuan Hasan Tuan Lah, juga Kapten Hafiz Firdaus dan lain-lain yang berkemampuan. Mereka seperti ini berhak campur tangan dalam hal ilmu kerana mereka ada fakta". Nabi s.a.w menyebut:" Manusia bagaikan bahan galian,seperti galian emas dan perak. Mereka yang terpilih semasa jahiliah, terpilih juga semasa Islam sekiranya mereka itu memahami islam"( Riwayat al-Bukahri dan Muslim)Dalam buku Kapten Hafiz Firdaus Abdullah "7 Tipu Daya Syaitan Ke Atas Umat Islam" beliau ada meletakkan tiga bisikan syaitan untuk menakutkan umat Islam dari menghampiri al-Qur'an dan al-Sunnah iaitu:Bisikan Pertama:"Siapa menuntut ilmu tanpa guru maka dia menuntutilmu dengan syaitan".Bisikan ini amat masyhur sehingga ia berjaya menakutkan ramai umat Islam dari menuntut ilmu tentang agama mereka.Bahkan ada yang menganggapnya sebagai sebuah hadis.Sebenarnya berguru memang penting dalam Islam. Maksud berguru ialah seorang yang rendah ilmunya menuntut daripada seorang yang lebih tinggi ilmunya. Cara atau sarana berguru boleh berbeza-beza seperti pembacaan, menonton program di TV, mendengar rakaman, berdialog di internet dan duduk berhadapan(face to face). Oleh itu, sebagai contoh, jika seseorang sedang membaca buku Imam al-Nawawi rahimahullah, bererti dia sedang berguru dengan beliau.Akan tetapi syaitan telah masuk campur merosakkan maksud berguru. Ia membataskannya kepada berguru secara berhadapan sahaja (face to face). Syaitan mengetahui bahawa dengan pembatasan ini, ramai umat Islam tidak akan dapat menuntut ilmu. Ini kerana masing-masing sibuk dengan kuliah, kerja dan keluarga sehingga sukar untuk duduk berhadapan dengan guru kecuali untuk beberapa ketika. Selain itu sukar pula untuk mencari guru yang berilmu, amanah dan jujur untuk berguru secara face to face dengannya. Maka setelah melakukan pembatasan tersebut, syaitan menakutkan orang ramai bahawa jika mereka menuntut ilmu tanpa guru, yakni tanpa face to face dengan seorang guru, maka orang itu sedang menuntut ilmu dengannya.Bisikan syaitan ini dapat dilawan dengan penjelasan bahawa sesiapa yang menuntut ilmu dengan apa jua cara, asalkan ikhlas demi memperbaiki agamanya, maka yang akan menjadi gurunya bukan syaitan tetapi Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala. Allah berjanji di dalam al-Qur'an:Dan orang-orang yang berusaha dengan bersungguh-sungguh kerana memenuhi kehendak agama Kami,sesungguhnya Kami akan memimpin mereka ke jalan-jalan Kami; dan sesungguhnya (pertolongan dan bantuan) Allah adalah berserta orang-orang yang berusaha membaiki amalannya. [al-Ankabut 29:69]Bisikan Kedua:"Anda perlu menguasai bahasa arab terlebih dahulu. Tidak boleh belajar agama tanpa bahasa arab."Melalui bisikan ini syaitan sekali lagi dapat menakutkan orang ramai dari menuntut ilmu agama. Melalui bisikan ini ramai yang menggunakan masa dan tenaga yang dia miliki untuk belajar bahasa Arab. Bertahun-tahun belajar tetapi yang diketahui hanya sekadar "Aina anta?" Sebenarnya pada masa kini, penguasaan bahasa Arab tidak perlu menjadi prioriti untuk menuntut ilmu agama. Ini kerana sudah terdapat banyak buku-buku bahasa Arab yang sudah diterjemah ke bahasa Malaysia, Indonesia dan Inggeris. Selain itu terdapat juga buku-buku dalam bahasa Malaysia, Indonesia dan Inggeris yang dikarang oleh penulis yang menguasai bahasa Arab dengan baik. Buku ini mewakili pelbagai subjek seperti aqidah, tafsir, hadis, fiqh, akhlak dan lain-lain. Semua ini memudahkan kita menuntut ilmu agama tanpa perlu menguasai bahasa Arab.Dalam konteks ini, orang-orang yang ingin menuntut ilmu agama boleh dibahagikan kepada dua kumpulan:Mereka yang memberi tumpuan kepada mempelajari bahasa Arab. Kumpulan ini lazimnya mengambil masa beberapa tahun belajar bahasa Arab dengan hajat ingin dapat membaca kitab-kitab klasik seperti Tafsir al-Qurtubi dan Syarh Shahih Muslim bi al-Nawawi. Setelah beberapa tahun, segelintir di antara mereka ada yang berjaya. Namun kebanyakan yang lain gagal. Dalam masa beberapa tahun tersebut, mereka masih jahil tentang agama dan jahil juga tentang bahasa Arab. Akhirnya mereka kecewa dan putus asa dari ingin menuntut ilmu agama.Mereka yang memberi tumpuan kepada mempelajari ilmu-ilmu agama dari sumber bahasa yang mereka fahami. Dalam masa beberapa tahun, kumpulan ini sudah menguasai aqidah yang tulen, fiqh perbandingan antara empat mazhab dan akhlak yang selari dengan Rasulullah shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam. Mereka juga menguasai ilmu tafsir, hadis, fiqh dan lain-lain. Setelah itu mereka mula memberi tumpuan kepada mempelajari bahasa Arab.Ini kerana pada tahap awal proses menuntut ilmu, bahasa Arab tidak penting. Akan tetapi pada tahap seterusnya,bahasa Arab menjadi penting untuk mereka melanjutkan kajian kepada sumber-sumber yang belum diterjemahkan.Bahasa Arab juga menjadi penting dalam rangka menjawab orang-orang yang kononnya ahli dalam bahasa Arab tetapi sengaja mengubah terjemahan ayat al-Qur'an, hadis atau perkataan ulama' silam dalam kuliah atau tulisan mereka demi membenarkan pandangan mereka yang menyesatkan.Oleh kerana kumpulan ini sudah memiliki penguasaan dalam sesuatu subjek, mudah untuk mereka menelaah subjek tersebut dari sebuah kitab berbahasa Arab. Sebagai contoh, sebuah kitab fiqh klasik dalam bahasa Arab akan mudah ditelaah oleh orang yang mahir dalam subjek fiqh sekali pun dia belum mahir dalam bahasa Arab. Berbeza dengan orang yang mahir dalam bahasa Arab tetapi lemah dalam subjek fiqh, dia akan mengalami kesukaran untuk menelaahnya.Ringkasnya, menguasai bahasa Arab tidak menjanjikan penguasaan dalam ilmu-ilmu agama, apatah lagi penghayatannya. Syaitan telah berjaya menakut-nakutkan umat Islam dari menuntut ilmu-ilmu agama dengan meletakkan syarat penguasaan bahasa Arab terlebih dahulu. Lawanlah tipu daya syaitan ini dengan menuntut ilmu-ilmu agama dalam apa jua bahasa. Prioriti anda ialah aqidah dan asas-asas agama seperti ilmu berkenaan al-Qur'an dan al-Sunnah. Seterusnya ia diikuti dengan ibadah dan akhlak. Kemudian apabila anda memiliki masa dan tenaga yang lebih,berilah tumpuan kepada bahasa Arab.Bisikan Ketiga:"Saya takut hendak membaca dari sumber terjemahan kerana mungkin terdapat kesilapan terjemahan."Tidak ada buku yang sempurna dari kesilapan melainkan al-Qur'an. Selain al-Qur'an, kemungkinan wujudnya kesilapan memang ada. Demikian juga bagi buku-buku yang diterjemah dari bahasa Arab ke bahasa Malaysia, Indonesia dan Inggeris. Kemungkinan kesilapan memang ada. Akan tetapi kemungkinan tersebut amatlah kecil. Berdasarkan pengalaman saya membaca kitab terjemahan dan membandingkannya dengan kitab asal berbahasa Arab, berani saya katakan bahawa kemungkinan tersebut hanya sekadar 2 hingga 3 peratus. Hanya syaitan yang membesarbesarkannya kepada 20 hingga 30 peratus.Lebih dari itu, kesilapan yang berlaku di sisi penterjemah boleh juga berlaku di sisi penterjemah yang lain. Jika anda menguasai bahasa Arab, anda juga akan membuat kesilapan ketika membaca sesebuah kitab, khasnya kitab klasik yang ditulis pada zaman awal dan pertengahan Islam.Oleh itu lawanlah bisikan syaitan ini dengan cara menelaah sesebuah buku terjemahan dengan teliti. Jika menemui sebuah kenyataan yang memusykilkan, bertanyalah kepada orang yang mahir dalam subjek tersebut. Insya-Allah dia akan dapat menerangkan sama ada itu satu kesilapan terjemahan atau kemusykilan yang sebenarnya satu kebenaran.Demikian tiga contoh bisikan syaitan yang masyhur dalam rangka menakutkan umat Islam dari menuntut ilmu agama.Sungguh, apabila iblis berjanji di hadapan Allah: "Jika Engkau beri tempoh kepadaku hingga Hari Kiamat, tentulah aku akan menyesatkan zuriat keturunannya (manusia), kecuali sedikit (di antaranya)." [al-Isra' 17:62], ia tidak sangka bahawa amatlah mudah untuk melaksanakan janjinya itu. Buktinya dapat dilihat pada masa kini dimana majority dari umat Islam amat takut untuk belajar berkenaan agama mereka. Sekali pun sebahagian dari mereka memiliki kelulusan pendidikan yang amat tinggi, mereka amat takut untuk belajar tentang Islam. Mereka mencukupkan diri dengan apa yang dipelajari di bangku sekolah.Apabila umat Islam tetap berada dalam keadaan jahil, mudah bagi syaitan untuk mencapai objektifnya menyesat, mengkafir, memusyrik dan menjadikan umat Islam penghuni neraka. Atas tipu daya syaitan ini, kita akan temui kebanyakan orang yang memiliki penghayatan agama melaksanakan penghayatan tersebut hanya dengan mengikuti orang-orang sebelum mereka atau kumpulan tertentu. Amat sedikit yang menghayati agama berdasarkan kefahaman yang jitu berkenaan al-Qur'an dan al-Sunnah yang sahih serta teladan generasi al-Salaf al-Shalih.Bahkan tanpa ilmu agama yang sahih, iaitu ilmu yang berdasarkan al-Qur'an dan al-Sunnah, mudah untuk syaitan mencapai objektifnya itu dengan melakukan tipu daya memperindahkan sesuatu yang sebenarnya mungkar. Tipu helah ini akan kita kaji seterusnya insya-Allah.Maka kepada para pembaca sekalian, jika terlintas di hati anda perasaan takut untuk menuntut ilmu, ketahui bahawa itu adalah lintasan dari syaitan. Ucaplah "A'uzubillahi minas syaitan nirrajim" dan terus memberanikan diri anda untuk menuntut ilmu.Wallahua'lam.

الأمر بالمعروف والنهي عن المنكر

الفصل الأول

الأمر بالمعروف و النهي عن المنكر الذي أنزل الله به كتبه وأرسل به رسله من الدين . فإن رسالة الله : إما إخبار ، و إما إنشاء . فالإخبار عن نفسه وعن خلقه : مثل التوحيد والقصص الذي يندرج فيه الوعد والوعيد . والإنشاء الأمر والنهي والإباحة .
وهذا كما ذكر في أن : (( قل: هو الله أحد )) . تعدل ثلث القرآن؛ لتضمنها ثلث التوحيد ؛ إذ هو قصص ؛ وتوحيد؛ وأمر . وقوله سبحانه في صفة نبينا صلى الله عليه وسلم ، : ( يَأْمُرُهُمْ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ وَيَنْهَاهُمْ عَنِ الْمُنْكَرِ وَيُحِلُّ لَهُمُ الطَّيِّبَاتِ وَيُحَرِّمُ عَلَيْهِمُ الْخَبَائِثَ) (الأعراف: من الآية157) . هو بيان لكمال رسالته ؛ فإنه صلى الله عليه وسلم ، هو الذي أمر الله على لسانه بكل معروف ، ونهى عن كل منكر ؛ وأحل كل طيب وحرم كل خبيث ، ولهذا روي عنه أنه قال : (( إنما بعثت لأتمم مكارم الأخلاق )) . وقال في الحديث المتفق عليه : (( مثلي ومثل الأنبياء كمثل رجل بن داراً فأتمها وأكملها إلا موضع لبنة، فكان الناس يطيفون بها ويعجبون من حسنها : ويقولون : لولا موضع اللبنة ! فأنا تلك اللبنة )).

فبه كمل دين الله المتضمن للأمر بكل معروف والنهي عن كل منكر ، وإحلال كل طيب وتحريم كل خبيث . و أما من قبله من الرسل فقد كان يحرم على أممهم بعض الطيبات ، كما قال:(فَبِظُلْمٍ مِنَ الَّذِينَ هَادُوا حَرَّمْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ طَيِّبَاتٍ أُحِلَّتْ لَهُمْ)(النساء: من الآية160). وربما لم يحرم عليهم جميع الخبائث ، كما قال تعالى :(كُلُّ الطَّعَامِ كَانَ حِلاًّ لِبَنِي إِسْرائيلَ إِلَّا مَا حَرَّمَ إِسْرائيلُ عَلَى نَفْسِهِ مِنْ قَبْلِ أَنْ تُنَزَّلَ التَّوْرَاة) (آل عمران: من الآية93).

وتحريم الخبائث يندرج في معنى : (( النهي عن المنكر )) كما أن إحلال الطيبات يندرج في : (( الأمر بالمعروف )) لأن تحريم الطيبات مما نهى الله عنه ، وكذلك الأمر بجميع المعروف والنهي عن كل منكر مما لم يتم إلا للرسول ؛ الذي تمم الله به مكارم الأخلاق المندرجة في المعروف ، وقد قال الله تعالى: ( الْيَوْمَ أَكْمَلْتُ لَكُمْ دِينَكُمْ وَأَتْمَمْتُ عَلَيْكُمْ نِعْمَتِي وَرَضِيتُ لَكُمُ الْأِسْلامَ دِيناً ) (المائدة: من الآية3) . فقد أكمل الله لنا الدين ، وأتم علينا النعمة ، ورضي لنا الإسلام ديناً .

وكذلك وصف الأمة بما وصف به نبيها حيث قال تعالى: (كُنْتُمْ خَيْرَ أُمَّةٍ أُخْرِجَتْ لِلنَّاسِ تَأْمُرُونَ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ وَتَنْهَوْنَ عَنِ الْمُنْكَرِ وَتُؤْمِنُونَ بِاللَّه) (آل عمران: من الآية110). وقال تعالى :( وَالْمُؤْمِنُونَ وَالْمُؤْمِنَاتُ بَعْضُهُمْ أَوْلِيَاءُ بَعْضٍ يَأْمُرُونَ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ وَيَنْهَوْنَ عَنِ الْمُنْكَر)(التوبة: من الآية71). ولهذا قال أبو هريرة : كنتم خير الناس للناس ، تأتون بهم في الأقياد والسلاسل حتى تدخلوهم الجنة .

فبيّن سبحانه أن هذه الأمة خير الأمم للناس : فهم أنفعهم لهم ، وأعظمهم إحساناً إليهم ، لأنهم كملوا أمر الناس بالمعروف ونهيهم عن المنكر من جهة الصفة والقدر ، حيث أمروا بكل معروف ونهوا عن كل منكر لكل أحد ، وأقاموا ذلك بالجهاد في سبيل الله بأنفسهم و أموالهم ، وهذا كمال النفع للخلق .

وسائر الأمم لم يأمروا كل أحد بكل معروف ؛ ولا نهوا كل أحد عن كل منكر ، ولا جاهدوا على ذلك . بل منهم من لم يجاهد ، والذين جاهدوا كبني إسرائيل فعامة جهادهم كان لدفع عدوهم عن أرضهم ، كما يقاتل الصائل الظالم ؛ لا لدعوة المجاهدين و أمرهم بالمعروف ونهيهم عن المنكر ، كما قال موسى لقومه : (يَا قَوْمِ ادْخُلُوا الْأَرْضَ الْمُقَدَّسَةَ الَّتِي كَتَبَ اللَّهُ لَكُمْ وَلا تَرْتَدُّوا عَلَى أَدْبَارِكُمْ فَتَنْقَلِبُوا خَاسِرِينَ . قَالُوا يَا مُوسَى إِنَّ فِيهَا قَوْمًا جَبَّارِينَ وَإِنَّا لَن نَّدْخُلَهَا حَتَّىَ يَخْرُجُواْ مِنْهَا فَإِن يَخْرُجُواْ مِنْهَا فَإِنَّا دَاخِلُونَ ) إلى قوله:( قَالُواْ يَا مُوسَى إِنَّا لَن نَّدْخُلَهَا أَبَدًا مَّا دَامُواْ فِيهَا فَاذْهَبْ أَنتَ وَرَبُّكَ فَقَاتِلا إِنَّا هَاهُنَا قَاعِدُونَ) (المائدة:21-24) . و قال تعالى: ( أَلَمْ تَرَ إِلَى الْمَلأِ مِنْ بَنِي إِسْرائيلَ مِنْ بَعْدِ مُوسَى إِذْ قَالُوا لِنَبِيٍّ لَهُمُ ابْعَثْ لَنَا مَلِكاً نُقَاتِلْ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ قَالَ هَلْ عَسَيْتُمْ إِنْ كُتِبَ عَلَيْكُمُ الْقِتَالُ أَلَّا تُقَاتِلُوا قَالُوا وَمَا لَنَا أَلَّا نُقَاتِلَ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ وَقَدْ أُخْرِجْنَا مِنْ دِيَارِنَا وَأَبْنَائِنَا) (البقرة: من الآية246). فعللوا القتال بأنهم أخرجوا من ديارهم و أبنائهم ، ومع هذا فكانوا ناكلين عما أمروا به من ذلك ؛ ولهذا لم تحل لهم الغنائم ؛ ولم يكونوا يطؤون بملك اليمين .

Hijabaholic

Since the UCD Syariah debate that went totally W.R.O.N.G, and the Irish kept saying that we women in hijab are being oppressed, suppressed and depressed. That we've to suppress our beauty (or lack of it), thus we're being oppressed.and it got me a bit sad, and a bit de-motivated, like I work for Islam but for whom? Who am I catering for? Y am I doing this? Why should I even try so hard? For whom? The Irish? The Society? For me? For whom??and I even wondered why I wear a hijab day in and day out. Why do I hold it ever so dear to me?so let's try answering the common questions I get asked on the streets or elsewhere.Why do I wear hijab?People won't accept it if we say cause Allah asked me to. Coz I won't get raped is not a good enough answer, in fact, it's insulting- i won't get raped, but you will!! Nor should I say "coz men have desire for women"- that's like belittle-ing men. It's like saying men can't control themselves. When we know that they can.So i say " Cause it's my identity, I'm proud to be a muslim, and I'm proud of showing everyone that I'm a muslim" .Women are oppressed because of hijab.Oppressed is a word used to mean that someone is being kept down by forceful authorities- means that she is doing something out of her will, like she has no choice in it. Well, correct me if I'm wrong, but we are all humans, no?And everybody has ideas and choices. So, I choose to put on the hijab day in, and day out. And if someday, I decide that I don't want to wear the hijab, I will just take it off. If life is about choices, and oppression is about not being able to choose, am I still being oppressed by CHOOSING to wear the hijab?Let's tell a short story. I'm doing medicine, 2nd year. In these awfully P.A.I.N.F.U.L few years, I've been through sleepless nights, aching body, my mind hurts, stress, hypertension and a f*ck load of harm. I've been lonely, depressed and shattered. (Note* all mentioned are using past tense). But why am I doing this to myself? Y go through the pain and hurt to be a doctor instead of just a kindergarten teacher?1) It's for the future. I can be Rich someday- maybe. If not rich (aka- I won't be able to own a Chanel bag), I'd at least have enough to pay the rent and bills.2) Well, somebody's gotta do it. I'm not exactly stupid. If I become the latter, I'd be wasting my potentials.3) For the ummah. for basicly, we live as one.So if I'm doing this, for the betterment of thefuture, I am regarded high in the society, an intellect and a professional.Thus if I know that God wants me to wear the hijab and I wear it, in promise of Paradise, shouldn't I be regarded as someone perfectly wonderful? And if someday (God forbid!) I decide to take the hijab off, wouldn't I be oppressing myself in the hereafter?Our ideas of oppression are at two far ends of a dog, and my ideas aren't being slapped in the media, or shouted halfway across the country. I feel oppressed when people tell me that they feel I'm being oppressed. It hurts and it feels somewhat sad.S0, If you say that you wear Hijab couse Allah wants you to, will you say that the non-hijab wearing muslims are bad muslims?- this is like a trick question, they wanna know what we think of them.My answer is no. Of course not. *back to the medicine ideology* Like, I'm doing medicine and I'm fumbling steps by steps, but some friends sail through it like a breeze in the sea.It's the same as hijab. Some women can wear them, some just find it difficult. Like when I first put on the hijab, I was 10 and it was in the UK. From being one of the most popular girl in school, I was an outcast. Nobody wanted to befriend me, I couldn't walk anywhere without people staring at me. It was H.A.R.D with capital letters all around.So since God made us, everyone of us (assuming all of us believe in God, frankly, I have a hard time believing I evolved from apes-am I glad I live in the 21st century, it'd kill me if I looked in the mirror and saw an ape lol) ok, so since God made us, I'm more than very certain that he understands the problems that some of us face where others may not encounter. And only He knows, so only He can tell whether someone is a good muslim or far from it.And me? I'm treating everyone the same, I'm not passing judgement. Any religion teaches their followers to be kind, and it's the same everywhere.It's not a black and white print of what's right and what's wrong. It's not that rigid. But we will talk about syariah another time.And based from what I just said, I now can firmly say that I now know why I wear the hijab.

DUnia dan syurga

I'm going to touch on something that i don't really know about, so I'd really, really like and appreciate it if you guys can come in and correct me if im wrong! Cause trulyI want to learn, but sometimes I'm sombong. So really tell me what i dont know.When i was young, In religious education class, I had this ustazah telling us about heaven. And what she said is still in my head, since i was 13 till now, till im 21."dalam syurga akan ada banyak bidadari yang cantik-cantik, yang manis dan akan sentiasa memikat suami kita. Dalam syurga, wanita akan berebut dengan bidadari untuk perhatian suami kita."That, I thought was a bit over-whelming, unjust and like gila....like in this life, im like kinda sooo jeles when I think ofmy boyfriend (ex now) talking to some other girl, peramugari (which he calls bidadari), kadang2 i get slightly jeles dgn his guyfrens, family, etc.. aha.. But thats just me being me, and imagine in heaven I have to fight for his attention, berebut dgn bidadari syurga. The bidadaries yg sgt cantik, melayan sbg pelayan.. I would so loss..Huu,,and that got me thinking, Thats not the concept of Heaven! Life on Earth is a challenge, something Allah sets for us, and for us to remember why we are here. And heaven, heaven is a gift, a reward for doing the right thing at all times. When i say the right thing, I don't just mean physically. doing the right thing is something that u need to do inside! Hilang rasa dendam, hilang rasa marah, hilang the want to always create drama, to not get too emotionally attached to a human, to love Allah more than u love anything else, to learn inside u to forgive. To be kind. To love Allah. to emphasis. hehe..So, thats what this is about. It's about believeing in Allah, that he won't forsake you. Heaven will not be cruel as such, Heaven is un imaginable, but it really wont be a place where I'd need to fight again. NO! It wont be..Yg got me thinking as well, were the 7 lapisan syurga. I thought of it, I really did. Kat dunia we have the few lapisan, The rich, the poor, the antara, the broke.But I know Allah is fair! Yg maha adil. meaning the poor can be the golongan atas di syurga, even the rich can be there. The best part is, perasaan hasad dengki dan perasaan like 'You miskin sbb u malas pun xkan ada'. But I think thats the reason why ukhwah and friendship and family mesti ada, so we can all work together to get there..But sometimes I forget. I too want this, but I too leka dalam solat juga. Kadang2 i lagha, tgk movie org kissing, i lupa turn away (aha!), u know.ni just reflecting. I baru balik usrah. esok, we'll see how things go. Reflection and reflecting is a way of living (;

Leaving Matters to Allah in the Era of Fitna

This era is the era of fitna. Fitna in al-Quran andal-Sunnah is not as understood by the Malay people with a meaning that relatesto making false accusations to others. Fitna as mentioned in al-Quranand al-Sunnah means trials or events that threaten the religion and life’stranquility able to drag a person into the mire cursed by Allah.
The Prophet s.a.w taught us numerous beautiful du’a (recitations ofsupplication). However, sometimes a person cannot feel the beauty of thosedu’a, not until the du’a truly connects to his present life’ssituation. When the situation presents itself then only the poignancy of thedu’a can be savored.
At that time, the du’a that we repeatedly recite without any specialfeeling attached to it becomes so poignant that it touches deep inside the heartand soul. Unfortunately in our community, the du’a authentically taughtby the Prophet s.a.w are abandoned whereas fabricated du’a suggested bybooks or people not sourced from the Prophet s.a.w become their choice ofpreference.
A prominent religious figure of this ummah named al-Qadi ‘Iyadh said, “VerilyAllah has granted the permission (for us) to supplicate Him. He teaches Hisservants du’a in His Book. The Prophet s.a.w also taught his followersvarious du’a. Those du’a consist of three elements namely theknowledge on tauhid (belief in oneness and uniqueness of Allah) and linguisticapplication and advices to the ummah.
Thus, it is improper for a person to turn his back on the du’ataught by the Prophet s.a.w. The Satan has deceived humankind in this matter andhe has given rise to a group of evil people (who fabricated artificial du’a).Consequently, they fabricate artificial du’a turning them away fromemulating the Prophet s.a.w.
Even worse, they associate those du’a to the prophets and the piousMuslims and claim that this is the du’a of Adam, du’a of Nuh, du’a ofYunus and du’a of Abi Bakr al-Siddiq r.a” (Ibn al-Imam, Silah al-Mu’min fial-Du`a wa al-Zikr, pg. 22-23, Damsyik: Dar al-Kalim al-Tayyib)

Similarly, syirk (joining others in worship with Allah), kufr (actof disobedience or disbelief to Allah), bid’ah (innovation in act ofworship), immoral activities, homicide, chaos, havoc and the likes of it arealso characterized as fitna. To live in an era of fitna is anexcruciating experience. Sometimes a person can even get disoriented indetermining which one is the right standpoint and decision.
The Prophet s.a.w taught us in many hadith to always seek refugewith Allah from fitna that is the menace that jeopardizes our religionand life’s tranquility. Because of that, among his teachings is for thoseperforming the prayer to always seek refuge with Allah from four elements. Thedu’a is, “O Allah, verily I seek refuge with You from the torment ofHell, from the torment of the grave, from fitna in this life andafterlife and from the fitna of al-Masih Dajjal.” (Reported byal-Bukhari and Muslim)
This du’a is to be recited during the tasyahud (tahiyyat) before pronouncingthe Salam. There are many more beautiful du’a taught by the Prophet s.a.w to berecited in salaat However, many are not aware of those du’a since their salaatis based on blind imitation. They do not learn the salaat through studying thehadith of the Prophet s.a.w but instead, they inherit the salaat by imitatingwhat they have seen from others.
Without knowing how to perform the salaat as taught by the Messenger of Allahs.a.w, we will lose the chance of experiencing the pleasing effect of thosedu’a. Because of that, among the books worthy to be read by all levels of thesociety concerning salaat is the book written by a famous hadith scholar namedNasiruddin al-Albani titled “The Prophet’s Prayer (saw)”.
We can learn many beautiful recitations taught by Allah’s Messenger s.a.w.Among the beautiful recitations is that when the Prophet s.a.w woke up atnighttime to perform the salaat, he would commence his salaat (recited the du’aof iftitah) with these words, “O Allah, Lord of Gabriel, and Michael, andIsrafil, the Creator of the heavens and the earth, Who knowest the unseen andthe seen; Thou decidest amongst Thy servants concerning their differences. Guideme with Thy permission in the divergent views (which the people) hold aboutTruth, for it is Thou Who guidest whom Thou wilt to the Straight Path” (Reportedby Muslim)
Such profound is the effect of du’a similar to this – with the exquisitenessof its Arabic language – that penetrates the heart while other people are stilldeep in their sleep and submerged in their dreams whereas a sincere servant ofAllah pleads and begs to be guided towards the right path amidst all thediscords occurring in the community.
This du’a touches the heart and the fragility of its innermost being as welive in an era of perpetual dispute and occupied with chaotic conducts ofhumankind. Each side claims that they are the right ones to the extent that wedo not know which is actually Satan masquerading as humans or angels accused ofSatan.
We have been repeatedly reciting this du’a from the Prophet s.a.w, “O Allah,if You wish for fitna to occur in the community then let me die in a conditionnot affected by the fitna.” (Reported by al-Imam Ahmad, ranked as sahih byal-Albani) Reading this hadith in an era or situation full with fitna reallytouches the heart.
It really feels like there is a dire need for it now. The longing for thegenuine tranquility in life is deeply felt. Without realizing it, tears dampenthe cheeks as we endure the weariness of coping with life’s turbulence and thepining of the heart in yearning for the guidance from the Lord. In this du’a,the Prophet s.a.w taught us to supplicate Allah to prevent us from beingimpinged on by fitna, the harm that threatens the stand or position of ourreligious observance.
When fitna descends on us jeopardizing the teaching of Allah and HisMessenger then life will become poison although it is made out as honey. If itis true that fitna will occur then we are asked to supplicate Allah to take ourlife in a condition unaffected by the fitna or harm. This is despite the factthat the fundamental ruling is a person is not commanded to wish to die but inanother hadith, he said, “None of you should wish for death because of acalamity befalling him; but if he has to wish for death, he should say: “OAllah! Keep me alive as long as life is better for me, and let me die if deathis better for me.’ “(Reported by al-Bukhari and Muslim)
Sometimes death is better than being alive if it only causes troubles toothers inciting fitna or inconvenience to the ummah. Similarly, death is alsobetter than trying to face tribulation that in the end causes us to be defeatedand suffer losses in the Afterlife. Thus, it is not surprising to know thatSaidina ‘Umar bin al-Khattab r.a in his old age, after he came back fromperforming the Hajj, he looked up the sky and raised his hands and supplicatedAllah, “O Allah! Verily my age has stretched out, my bones have become brittleand my people have multiplied. Thus, take my life before I mistreat my dutywithout it affected by fitna.” Consequently, after less than a month he returnedto Medina, he was murdered.
In similar case was Saidina ‘Ali bin Abi Talib. Although he has not reachedan old age yet but he asked from Allah to rest him from the stubbornness of hispeople who were in chaos and refused to calm down despite the effort he had putin. Consequently, he died not long after. Khalifah ‘Umar bin ‘Abdul ‘Aziz askedfor a person whose supplication was effective to supplicate Allah to take hislife when he felt that his people were unable to observe the justice and truthhe struggled to uphold. Thus, not long after that, he passed away. (Refer to:Ibn Rajab, al-Jami’ al-Muntakhab, pg. 103, Lebanon: Muassasah Fuad)
This is a fragmental story of the history of the pious individuals whopreferred to die instead of living but bringing on burdens and fitna to others.Compare them with the politicians who are more than willing to let others die aslong as they can live. All sorts of gibberish are being delivered to achievetheir goals. Let the people’s heads roll as long as they can seize power.
I am not bringing up this story so that we can all give up on life. On theother hand, it is so that a weak person like me will always remember thatalthough our feet are fixed on the ground on this earth but our heart has toalways be occupied with the real life that starts after life’s episode on theearth ends. If that is how our heart and emotion is set, surely our politickingwill not be in such disorderly manner.
Sometimes the political work has a religious sound to it but in several casesreligion is also used merely as a bridge to walk on to reach the politicalseats. Thus, how many people just recite the nas (religious authoritative texts)that illegalizes this and that mainly to blame others but at the same time, theydo not recite the nas to remind themselves and their groups.
For instance, when they accused others with various allegations, we did nothear any voice reciting the nas and evidence depicting the unlawfulness ofaccusing others without proofs and witnesses. However, when other people make anaccusation against us, all evidences and nas flow out smoothly to condemn thataction. Many have become confused by it. Who is being honest and who ishoodwinking? Or, are all of them monsters appearing in various forms to enticeall of us?
In a situation such as this, who is protected? Based on the hadith of theProphet s.a.w the most protected group is those who restrain themselves fromjoining up any of the groups that are in conflict with each other among theMuslims. That fitna ruins the religion because the conflict occurs dueto ambiguous reasons. Allah says in surah al-Isra’ verse 36 (translated as):“And pursue not that of which thou hast no knowledge; for every act of hearing,or of seeing or of (feeling in) the heart will be enquired into (on the Day ofReckoning).”
During the time of Saidina ‘Ali bin Abi Talib r.a, fitna occurred fragmentingthe Muslims including the companions of the Prophet s.a.w. It all stemmed fromthe issues surrounding the murder of Saidina ‘Uthman in ‘Affan r.a. The issuesthey were facing and their personality are much more virtuous unlike theambiguous and questionably obscure personality of some people these days.
The historians try to analyze whose opinion was the most truthful in thatparticular state of fitna. Various conclusions were produced. However, I am ofthe same opinion that the most accurate stand is the stand of the companions whorefused to be involved in that dispute. This was the standpoint of the majorityof the companions.
Muhammad bin Sirin said (deceased in 110H), “The surge of fitna swept theummah while tens of thousands of the companions were still alive but not morethan one hundred of them were involved. In fact, the number did not even exceedthirty people.” (Ibn Kathir, Al-Bidayah wa al-Nihayah, 7/264, Lebanon: Daral-Kutub al-‘Ilmiyyah).
Before the clash between the two companions ‘Ali and Mu’awiyah known as thebattle of Siffin struck, many quarters struggled to put a stop to it. Twoprominent companions Abu Umamah al-Bahili and Abu Darda’ are among the manypeople who tried to patch up the two sides. They went to see Mu’awiyah and said,“O Mu’awiyah! What is your justification for waging war against ‘Ali? By Allah!Verily he embraced Islam much earlier than you and your father did. His relationto Allah’s Messenger is much closer and he has more rights than you do ingovernance.”
Mu’awiyah answered, “I am waging war against him because of ‘Uthman’s bloodand verily ‘Ali is protecting his murderer. Both of you go to him and tell himto execute ‘Uthman’s murderer and I will certainly be the first person from Syamto give the pledge of allegiance to him.”
Thus, Abu Umamah and Abu Darda’ went to see ‘Ali and stated to him therequest made by Mu’awiyah. Sayyidina ‘Ali then showed them a troupe of army andsaid, “We are the murderers of ‘Uthman. Whoever wishes to attack us, please doso.” In the end, Abu Umamah and Abu Darda’ went back and decided not to getinvolved in the battle. .(Ibn Kathir, al-Bidayah wa al-Nihayah, 7/270).
Similarly, Abu Muslim al-Khaulani and those of the same standpoint as he wasmet with Mu’awiyah and asked, “You are waging war against ‘Ali, are youcomparable to him?”
Mu’awiyah answered, “By Allah! I sincerely know that he is much better andmore qualified as well as more deserving to be in governance than I am. However,all of you know that ‘Uthman was murdered unjustly and I am his cousin. I amavenging ‘Uthman’s blood. Tell ‘Ali to hand over ‘Uthman’s murderer to me and Iwill certainly pass this affair to him.” (Ibid 8/132).
Therefore, because of the ambiguity surrounding the situation at that time,most of the companions and tabi’in (the successors of the companions) took thestandpoint of refusing to participate in the battle.
That battle was headed by the prominent companions such as ‘Ali bin Abi Talibthe cousin of the Prophet s.a.w as well as the legitimate khalifah, ‘Aisyah thewife of the Prophet s.a.w, Mu’awiyah the companion of the Prophet s.a.w butstill the majority of the companions refused to participate in it because of theconfusion. This was despite the fact that those prominent figures were pioussouls whom had been granted Paradise by the Prophet s.a.w.
Do we then, in this era, wish to participate in the conflict among theMuslims concerning ambiguous issues and headed by dubious personalities? Fitna ofitna! O Allah, we leave everything to You in this baffling fitna.

Gantikan Membenci Dengan Kasih Sayang

Di Manakah Lelaki Sempurna?

SERING TERLONTAR PERNYATAAN BAHAWA MANUSIA TIDAK ADA YANG SEMPURNA. PADAHAL MANUSIA SEMPURNA ITU NESCAYA ADANYA. BUKAN BERERTI MANUSIA SEMPURNA KEMUDIAN TIDAK BERLAKU SALAH DAN DOSA. DI MANAKAH LELAKI SEMPURNA BERADA?

Ucapan (tidak ada orang sempurna) tidaklah benar, kerana laki-laki yang sempurna banyak jumlahnya. Yang paling sempurna dan utama adalah Nabi Muhammad SAW . Ini berdasarkan hadis sahih,

“Orang yang sempurna dari kalangan laki-laki banyak jumlahnya, sedangkan dari kalangan perempuan tidak ada yang sempurna kecuali Maryam putri Imran dan Asiyah putri Muzahim (isteri Fir‘aun). Dan keutamaan Aisyah dari seluruh perempuan seperti keutamaan Tsarid dari seluruh makanan.”

Hadis sahih juga menunjukkan bahwa Khadijah binti Khuwailid, ibu dari anak-anak beliau,termasuk perempuan yang sempurna.Demikian pula, Fathimah binti Rasulullah,dinyatakan dalam hadis sahih sebagai pemimpin kaum perempuan di syurga. Jadi, kelima wanita tersebut (Maryam, Asiyah, ‘Aisyah, Khadijah dan Fathimah) adalah orang-orang yang sempurna dari kalangan perempuan.

Adapun lelaki sempurna jumlahnya banyak. Ertinya, sempurna dalam sifat-sifat kemanusiaan yang Allah memujinya dan memuji pemiliknya, iaitu keilmuan, kedermawanan, keistiqamahan di atas agama Allah, keberanian dalam membela kebenaran, dan sifat-sifat agung lainnya yang Allah atau Rasul-Nya memujinya dan memuji pemiliknya. Hanya saja manusia yang paling sempurna adalah para Rasul alaihi-mussalam. Yang paling sempurna dan paling utama di antara mereka adalah Rasulullah , penutup dan pemimpin mereka, berdasarkan sabda beliau,

“Saya adalah pemimpin anak keturunan Adam pada hari kiamat, …”[1]

Juga berdasarkan dalil-dalil lainnya dari al-Quran dan al-Sunnah.Sementara kesempurnaan secara mutlak dalam seluruh sifat hanya milik Allah semata.Tidak ada yang setara dan sekutu dengan Allah dalam hal itu. Ini berdasarkan firman Allah yang bermaksud:

“Katakanlah,‘Dialah Allah, Yang Maha Esa. Allah adalah ilah yang bergantung kepada-Nya segala makhluk. Dia tidak beranak dan tidak pula diperanakkan, dan tidak ada seorang pun yang setara dengan Dia.’” (Al-Ikhlas: 1-4)

“Tidak ada sesuatupun yang serupa dengan Dia, dan Dia-lah Yang Maha Mendengar lagi Maha Melihat.” (Al-Syura: 11)

“Maka janganlah kamu mengadakan sekutu-sekutu bagi Allah. Sesungguhnya Allah mengetahui, sedang kamu tidak mengetahui.” (Al-Nahl:74)

Dalam surah al-Rum Allah berfirman yang bermaksud:

“Dan Dialah yang menciptakan (manusia) dari permulaan, kemudian mengembalikan (menghidupkan)nya kembali, dan menghidupkannya kembali itu adalah lebih mudah bagi-Nya. Dan bagi-Nyalah sifat yang Mahatinggi di langit dan di bumi;dan Dialah Yang Mahaperkasa lagi Mahabijaksana.” (Al-Rum: 27)

Al-Matsal al-A‘la dalam ayat ini adalah sifat yang amat luhur, yang tidak ada satu pun makhluk Allah yang bersekutu dengan-Nya didalam,iaitu sifat-sifat ilmu, kemampuan, kehidupan, mendengar, melihat, dan sifat-sifat sempurna lainnya. Maha tinggi, Mahakudus, dan Maha suci Allah dari keserupaan makhluk.Tidak ada sesembahan yang berhak di ibadahi kecuali Dia Yang Mahaperkasa lagi Mahabijaksana.

Siapa Yahudi Siapa Orang Islam?

SEJAK 18 hari ini seluruh dunia meratap gara-gara kezaliman Israel. Tentera Zionis terus-menerus mengebom, mengganyang rakyat Palestin. Israel, nampaknya terlalu berkuasa.

Saya tidak 'berkuasa' lagi untuk mengulas panjang mengenai peperangan sebelah pihak itu. Tapi saya ingin berkongsi dengan pembaca sekelian, siapa sebenarnya Yahudi ini dan mengapa mereka terlalu berkuasa.

Kita harus kaji secara akademik, ilmiah untuk mengetahui siapa mereka ini.

Saya amat tertarik dengan tulisan seorang penulis bebas, yang juga Pengarah Eksekutif Pusat Penyelidikan dan Kajian Keselamatan (CRSS) Pakistan, Dr. Farrukh Saleem (rujuk http://www.masada2000.org/Powerful-Jews.html) mengenai soal tersebut. Jadikanlah tulisan itu sebagai tatapan dan renungan kita semua - ke mana kita dan ke mana umat Islam harus pergi selepas ini. Dan, siapa yang harus disalahkan? (Nota: Sedikit sebanyak ia juga akan menjawab surat-surat dan SMS yang dihantar untuk ruangan Forum, Utusan Malaysia yang meminta ditonjolkan apakah produk di belakangnya Yahudi).

Hanya ada 14 juta Yahudi di muka bumi ini; tujuh juta di Amerika, lima juta di Asia, dua juta di Eropah dan 100,000 di Afrika. Bagi setiap orang Yahudi ada 100 orang Muslim (1:100). Namun, jika dicampur semua sekali, Yahudi lebih 100 kali berkuasa daripada orang Islam. Mengapa ini berlaku?

Siapa mereka ini?

Nabi Isa (Jesus of Nazareth) ialah Yahudi. Albert Einstein, saintis zaman moden paling terkemuka dan disebut oleh majalah Time sebagai 'Manusia Abad ini' ialah seorang Yahudi; Sigmund Freud - melalui teori id, ego dan super-ego ialah bapa psikoanalisis, juga seorang Yahudi; begitu juga Karl Marx, Paul Samuelson dan Milton Friedman.

Selain mereka banyak lagi orang Yahudi yang hasil kebijaksanaan mereka berupaya menghasilkan keperluan untuk kita semua: Benjamin Rubin memperkenalkan jarum suntikan pelalian.

Johas Salk mereka vaksin polio yang pertama. Gertrude Elion mencipta ubat melawan leukemia. Baruch Blumberg mencipta vaksin Hepatitis B. Paul Ehrlich menemukan rawatan untuk siflis. Elie Metchnikoff menang Hadiah Nobel untuk penyakit berjangkit. Bernard Katz menang Hadiah Nobel kerana kajian mengenai transmisi neuromuskular.

Andrew Schally penerima Nobel dalam kajian endokrinologi (berkaitan sistem endokrin dan kencing manis). Aaron Beck menemui terapi kognitif (rawatan mental, kesugulan dan fobia).

Gregory Pincus membangunkan pil perancang keluarga yang pertama. George Wald menang Nobel bagi kajian mata manusia, Standley Cohen dianugerahi Hadiah Nobel dalam kajian embriologi (kajian janin dan perkembangannya). Willem Kolff mencipta mesin dialisis (mencuci) buah pinggang.

Sejak 105 tahun, 14 juta Yahudi menang 15 dozen Hadiah Nobel, sementara tiga dimenangi oleh 1.4 bilion umat Islam.

Stanley Mezor mencipta mikrocip pertama. Leo Szilards membangunkan reaktor rangkaian nuklear pertama; Peter Schultz (kabel gentian optik); Charles Adler (lampu isyarat); Benno Strauss (besi tahan karat - stainless steel); Isador Kisee (sistem suara di pawagam); Emile Berliner (mikrofon untuk telefon) dan Charles Ginsburg (alat pita rakaman).

Saudagar jenama terkaya dunia juga dikuasai Yahudi iaitu Ralph Lauren (Polo), Levis Strauss (Levi's Jeans), Howard Schultz (Starbuck's), Sergey Brin (Google), Michael Dell (Dell Computers), Larry Ellison (Oracle), Donna Karan (DKNY), Irv Robbins (Baskin & Robbins) dan Bill Rossenberg (Dunkin Donuts).

Richard Levin, presiden universiti tersohor Yale Universiti ialah seorang Yahudi. Walter Annenberg menderma untuk membina ratusan perpustakaan berjumlah AS$2 bilion.

Di Olimpik, Mark Spitz membolot tujuh pingat emas. Lenny Krayzelburg ialah pemegang tiga kali pingat emas Olimpik. Spitz Krayzelburg dan Boris Becker adalah Yahudi.

Tahukah anda bahawa pelakon pujaan Harrison Ford, George Burns, Tony Curtis, Charles Bronson, Sandra Bullock, Billy Cystal, Woody Allen, Paul Newman, Peter Sellers, Dustin Hoffman, Michael Douglas, Ben Kingsley, Kirk Douglas, Willian Shatner, Jerry Lewis dan Peter Falk semuanya Yahudi?

Tambahan lagi, Hollywood sendiri diwujudkan oleh orang Yahudi. MEMPENGARUHI

Washington yang merupakan ibu negara Amerika Syarikat, mempunyai satu pertubuhan lobi yang amat berkuasa. Ia dikenali sebagai Jawatankuasa Hal Ehwal Awam Amerika Israel (AIPAC) yang berupaya mempengaruhi Kongres meluluskan resolusi memuji dan 'membuat apa saja' demi Israel.

Tahukah lagi bahawa William James Sidis dengan IQ 250-300 ialah manusia tercerdik. Dia ialah Yahudi.

Jadi, mengapa mereka ini terlalu berkuasa?

Jawapannya: Pendidikan, pelajaran, ilmu.

Mengapa umat Islam terlalu lemah?

Dianggarkan 1,476,233,470 Muslim di atas muka bumi Allah ini. Satu bilion di Asia, 400 juta di Afrika, 44 juta di Eropah dan enam juta di Amerika. Setiap lima insan manusia ialah Muslim. Setiap seorang Hindu ada dua orang Islam, setiap seorang Buddha ada dua orang Islam dan setiap seorang Yahudi ada beratus orang Islam. Mengapa orang Islam terlalu lemah?

Ini jawapannya: Terdapat 57 negara anggota OIC dan jika dicampur semua cuma ada kira-kira 500 buah universiti; atau sebuah universiti untuk setiap tiga juta orang Islam.

AS mempunyai 5,758 universiti dan India ada 8,407. Pada 2004, Shanghai Jiao Tong Universiti membuat kajian 'Kedudukan Akademik Universiti-universiti Dunia' - dan menakjubkan - tiada satu pun universiti-negara Islam yang berada di puncak 500.

Data yang dikumpul dari UNDP, tahap celik huruf di negara maju ialah hampir 90 peratus dan 15 negara itu mempunyai 100 peratus celik huruf. Negara majoriti penduduk Islam, purata kadar celik huruf ialah sekitar 40 peratus dan tiada negara yang mempunyai 100 peratus semuanya celik huruf.

Sekitar 98 peratus penduduk di negara maju menamatkan sekurang-kurang sekolah rendah, sementara hanya 50 peratus di negara majoriti Islam. Sekitar 40 peratus penduduk di negara maju memasuki universiti, sementara hanya 2 peratus di negara majoriti Islam.

Negara-negara majoriti Islam mempunyai 230 ahli sains bagi setiap (per) sejuta penduduk. Di AS 4,000 per sejuta, Jepun 5,000 per sejuta. Di seluruh negara Arab, penyelidik sepenuh masa ialah 35,000 dan hanya 50 juruteknik per sejuta (berbanding di negara maju 1,000 juruteknik per sejuta).

Negara Islam membelanjakan 0.2 peratus daripada KDNK untuk penyelidikan dan pembangunan (R&D) sebaliknya, di negara maju membelanjakan 5 peratus daripada KDNKnya.

Kesimpulan: Dunia Islam kurang keupayaan untuk menghasilkan ilmu pengetahuan.

Akhbar harian yang dibaca oleh setiap 1,000 orang dan jumlah judul buku yang dibaca oleh setiap sejuta orang adalah dua angka tunjuk bagi menentukan sama ada ilmu pengetahuan disalurkan ke dalam masyarakat.

Di Pakistan, hanya ada 23 akhbar harian per 1,000 rakyat Pakistan sementara nisbah di Singapura ialah 360. Di UK, jumlah judul buku per juta orang ialah 2,000 sementara di Mesir ialah 20.

Kesimpulan: Dunia Islam gagal menyalurkan ilmu pengetahuan.

Yang menariknya, jumlah terkumpul KDNK tahunan 57 buah negara ahli OIC ialah di bawah AS$2 trilion. Amerika sahaja, menghasilkan barangan dan perkhidmatan bernilai AS$12 trilion, China AS$8 trilion, Jepun AS$3.8 trilion dan Jerman AS$2.4 trilion.

Pengeluar minyak yang kaya, Arab Saudi, UAE, Kuwait, Qatar secara rangkuman menghasilkan barangan dan perkhidmatan (rata-rata minyak) bernilai AS$500 bilion; Sepanyol sahaja menghasilkan barangan dan perkhidmatan bernilai lebih AS$1 trilion, Poland AS$489 bilion dan Thailand AS$545 bilion.

Jadi, mengapa orang Islam tidak berkuasa dan orang Yahudi paling berkuasa?

Jawapannya ialah: Kurangnya ilmu. Kurangnya pendidikan dan kurangnya pelajaran.

Insurrection of Power: Between Sentiment and an Impartial Judgment

The great scholar of this ummah (Muslim community) Syeikhul Islam Ibn Taimiyyah (deceased in 728H) stated: “Verily, al-Amr bi al-Ma’ruf wa al-Nahy ‘An al-Munkar (the directive to perform goodness and the prohibition against wickedness), although its objectives are to bring about wellbeing and prevent damage but in executing it, one must consider the corresponding impact that clashes with it. If it causes wellbeing to disappear or brings about bigger damage then it is no longer commanded (by the teachings of Islam). In fact, it can turn into being haram (illegitimate) if it causes more damage than good. Nevertheless, the measurement to weigh well-being and damage must be done using the scale of the syariat (Muslim Law).” (Ibn Taimiyyah, Majmu’at al-Fatawa, 14/341, Riyadh: Al-Abikan)

Before, when I read the wise saying that states “A just ruler is more beneficial than the rain that brings about goodness (to the world) while a cruel ruler is more beneficial than a prolonged disorderliness” (refer to al-Munawi, Faid al-Qadir 1/566), I was unsatisfied with the last part of the saying. I felt like it did not pacify (enough) my young soul. Surely, that kind of saying is even harder to be accepted by the political rebels. However, when I started to learn the hadith of the Prophet s.a.w on the prescribed manners towards the rulers, I realized that those kinds of saying probably were true to a certain extent.

Look at what is happening in Algeria that causes the long-lasting bloodshed of the Muslims caused by the desire for a political change to the extent that mass murders occur among Muslims and even among some of the groups that say they want Islam. Consequently, the spirit of Islam among the people fades away and their image shatters. The same episode is unveiling in Iraq. Thus, it is clear that their previous life ruled by a cruel ruler like Saddam Hussein who victimized anyone intended to seize his power is much better than the new life that they initiated in which oppression and ruthlessness happens indiscriminately. Eventually, I wrote a book titles “Defending Islam: Obligation and Discipline” and another article in Arabic touching the same issues about two years ago and it was expounded in an international seminar. At that time, I was not a Mufti yet.

I would like to touch this issue in a general manner and it is for the world of Islam as a whole. Indeed, this is a very sensitive topic. However, I am not hungry for any reward such that I would speak for someone’s interest. If you are a fighter for human basic rights then you should know that I am exercising my right to give my opinions. In a hadith the Prophet s.a.w said: “The best of your rulers are those whom you love and who love you, upon whom you invoke God’s blessings and who invoke His blessing upon you. And the worst of your rulers are those whom you hate and who hate you, who curse you and whom you curse. (Those present) said: Shouldn’t we overthrow them at this? He said: No, as long as they establish prayer among you. Mind you! One who has a governor appointed over him and he finds that the governor indulges in an act of disobedience to God, he should condemn the governor’s act, in disobedience to God, but should not withdraw himself from his obedience.” (reported by Muslim). In another narration, he said: “There will be rulers with whom you concur (the goodness of some of their deeds) and you oppose to (the evilness of some of their deeds). Whoever despises (the evil deeds) then he is free (from sins), whoever opposes (the evil deeds) then he is safe (from sins). Yet, (the sinned one is) whoever consents and emulates (the evil deeds).” One of his companions asked: “Shouldn’t we overthrow them?” He answeres: “No, as long as they establish the prayer.” (Reported by Muslim)

These hadith probably are not very appealing to certain quarters. Some even consider whoever recites those hadith as spineless. I am not so certain whether they consider the Prophet s.a.w as spineless or not. To them, to overthrow the ruler and his allies – based on their judgment – is considered as jihad (holy war) and if the blood is spilled because of that, it is considered as martyred. This highly spirited group addresses those who are afraid to come out and fight the ruler in a harsh manner as ‘spineless ulama’. Subsequently, the hadith that states “The best of jihad is (stating) the truth to a cruel ruler or leader.” (Reported by al-Nasai, Abu Daud, al-Tirmizi and Ibn Majah – sahih) is being interpreted as an encouragement to overthrow the ruler rather than being contented with saying words of advice or stating the truth to the ruler as mentioned in that hadith.

Probably, if they read the statements made by the ulama before us then (to them) those ulama are more befitting to be addressed as spineless. For example, al-Imam al-Nawawi (deceased in 676H) stated: “With regards to people coming out to fight and overthrow the ruler, it is deemed as haram (illegitimate) by the consensus of all Muslims even though the ruler is fasik (sinner) and cruel. All the hadith that supported what I have just stated are clearly present. It is a consensus of Ahl al-Sunnah that a ruler is not dismissed due to his vice. The reason for prohibiting the dismissal and overthrow is that it can bring in upheaval, bloodshed and an obvious destruction. Thus, the damage done in dismissing a ruler is a lot more than that of retaining him.” (al-Nawawi, Syarh Sahih Muslim, 14/540). It means that if the effort to switch the government can lead to the spilling of blood or ruin of the country, that others would take advantage of it for example, then that is haraam with the consensus of all ulama of Ahlis Sunnah wal Jamaah.

The fight over politics in the world of Islam today, if not put under control, can lead to the interference of foreign power or can open the door for the enemies of Islam to rule the ummah. In the end, we will not get what we are after and we will lose what we have.

Verily, the Islam that we are holding on to must be tied to the authoritative texts of al-Quran and al-Sunnah. We do not need to curry favor anybody or gladden anybody. The world of Islam these days does have some flaws. It is not just the rulers of Islamic world today but even the ones before us had flaws with the exception of a few khalifah (rulers) during the grand era of Islam. The history of bloodshed due to the desire for power is also not minor. If we were to look for a maksum (divinely guarded from making mistakes) ruler surely we would not find it. If the penalty for every flaw a ruler has is to overthrow him then there will not be any peaceful nation in the world of Islam. Instead, regression and turmoil will prevail dominating the situation. We may wish to try something unknown to us but we have to make sure that it will not be inviting a ceaseless repercussion and a more severe wound. It cannot be done unless we truly believe that the existence of a certain authority is far more dangerous than the risk involved in gambling the future.

That is why in a hadith from ‘Ubadah bin Samit, he said: “The Prophet s.a.w called us and we took the bai’ah (oath of allegiance) to him. Among the injunctions he made binding upon us was: Listening and obedience (to the ruler) in our pleasure and displeasure, in our adversity and prosperity, even when somebody is given preference over us, and without disputing the delegation of powers to a man duly invested with them (Obedience shall be accorded to him in all circumstances) except when you have clear signs of his disbelief in (or disobedience to) God-signs that could be used as a conscientious justification (for non-compliance with his orders).” (Reported by al-Bukhari and Muslim). This hadith is not telling us to leave the ruler to exercise his power rampantly but it instructs us to evaluate the impact of a power coup. Thus, in their effort to mend the situation, Muslims are not allowed to do something that can bring about a greater disaster.

Political greed, when it has fully occupied a person’s desire, can cause him to forget about everything. It can blind the eyes from seeing the interest of the ummah and the future of country. Therefore, it is not surprising to see some Muslims conspire with non-Muslims to overthrow Muslim rulers when at the same time they are not able to guarantee what will happen next after the non-Muslims defeat his Muslim country. Verily, I do not fear those in power. I do not have the desire to butter them up. I have criticized in general those actions that can harm the nation. Nevertheless, I am talking about the authoritative texts from the Prophet s.a.w and the future wellbeing of this ummah is the center of consideration.

I remember about a person who ardently talked about the obligation of overthrowing the ruler regardless of the risks we had to endure in the end. He said that no tasks would be accomplished if we keep thinking about the risks involved adding that the future is not in our hands but it is Allah’s business. I knew the problematic record of his son and said, “Why haven’t you thrown your son out of your house?” He answered, “I cannot afford to do that since it will only make things worse. As a father, I have to think deep.” I said to him, “Am I then allowed to consider you as a coward father? After all, the future is not in our hands.” He was quiet. In such way are most humans, always think about their own interest and not the general interest (of the ummah).

It is up to a point that some even think that when we dislike Muslim rulers, we cannot assist them or obey all their commands. All the while, all the scholars of Islam state that if a Muslim ruler asks the people to wage jihad (holy war) with him to confront the kuffar (unbelievers), then they are obligated to obey him and it is not necessary for them to look at his personality whether he is righteous or wicked. This is because the issues of fighting the enemies of Allah for defending the religion or the motherland of the Muslims are the duties that do not stop or get void only because of the people’s dissatisfaction towards the ruler. Similarly, when the ruler calls for (executing) certain kindness then it is not necessary to question his personality in obeying him. This has been reminded by all ulama since a long time ago that is Muslims are obligated to obey the Muslim ruler in matters of goodness and wellness.

Al-Khattabi said (deceased in 338 H): “Verily, jihad is compulsory even though it is with a wicked ruler as it is compulsory with a righteous ruler. Their wickedness does not void the obligation to obey them in matters of jihad and similarly, in other matters of kindness.” (al-Khattabi, Ma’alim al-Sunan, 2/357). This had been decided by all the scholars of Islam because defending the ummah is a general concern. The fall of a country or a relentless turmoil in a country is more damaging than the flaws of a ruler who is still a Muslim.

Probably some may ask what then is our role in dealing with the flaws of the ruler? Do we just keep quiet? Do we just let him be? For, in truth, I have never said such things. Never had the ulama of Ahlis Sunnah wal Jamaah taught us that. Even more, we are told to speak the truth and be sincere in advising the ruler as well as co-operating with them in matters of kindness and prevent them from performing evil deeds. Unfortunately, many people wrongly interpret speaking the truth or giving advice to the rulers as cursing their personality in public. Preventing them from performing evil deeds, on the other hands, is interpreted as rebelling to overthrow them and gaining political sets for them or for their cluster.

Even to the Pharaoh who transgressed all bounds, Allah still commanded Musa (Moses) and Harun (Aaron) to advise him in a courteous manner as stated in the al-Quran (translated as): 43. “Go, both of you, to Pharaoh, for he has indeed transgressed all bounds; but speak to him mildly; perchance he may take warning or fear ((Allah)).” (surah Taaha: 43-44). Therefore, is it appropriate for us to curse the Muslim rulers publicly? Surely, they are not more wicked than the Pharaoh to whom Allah sent His two Prophets to confront and to advise mildly.

Today, insults to the individual rulers mostly are not only harsh but is done not in a confronting manner. Moreover, sometimes the insults involve matters that are prohibited (to be mentioned openly) by Allah and His Messenger. Some are even willing to dig up their private and family secret and insult the physical look that Allah created for them whereas all those are irrelevant with their role in administrating the country. Is that considered as da’wah (missionary work for Islam)? I do not object giving advices in a general term. However, to insult the rulers’ personal matters hoping that would gain them political seats then that would need to be re-evaluated using the yardstick of Islam.

I have said once: “O you who are using the name of the religion! Suppose that the Prophet s.a.w were present while you were making such speeches, would he indicate his consent and admitted that this was the form of da’wah he carried with him? If your answer is yes, then the Prophet that you claim to be has the characters that differ far from what is stated in the al-Quran and al-Sunnah.”

Both The Intent And The Method Must Be Righteous

To have a coherent purpose in carrying out any task is the main pillar for
all endeavors. Islam stipulates that the main condition for every deed (to be
acknowledged) is for a person to have an upright intention and this is after
ensuring that his akidah (creed) is safe and sound. The Propet s.a.w said, “The
reward of deeds depends upon the intentions” (Reported by al-Bukhari and
Muslim)

Therefore, the same deed is judged differently based on the person’s
intention. Someone who falls from a high building because he accidentally slips
does not have the same position alongside Allah with someone who falls from a
high building because he wants to kill himself. Although those who look at their
dead bodies will think that they may have died for the same reason but in the
eyes of Allah, there is a difference between the two.

The one who accidentally slips is forgiven by Allah
and probably receives rewards from Allah if his intention of being on top of the
building is noble whereas the one who kills himself commits a major sin in the
eyes of Allah. However, an honest intention is not enough if the means used to
achieve it is wrong.

If the person who accidentally slips has deliberately chosen a deadly method
to do his work whereas it can be avoided, then his death is regarded as throwing
himself into harm and this is forbidden by Allah. Islam does not acknowledge the
Robin Hood method that steals from others with the intention to donate to
others. In issues concerning politics, economy, specific ibadah (act of worship)
and others, the Islamic principle is the same that is the end does not justify
the means.

Thus, in Islam, after it is required to have a correct intention, for a deed
to be regarded as pious or deserving rewards in Islam is for its means to be
correct that is conforming to the guidance from Allah and al-Sunnah. In matters
of specific ibadah such as salat, fasting, hajj and the likes of it, the second
condition after a good intention is that the deed must be deemed acceptable
based on what had been demonstrated by Allah’s Messenger s.a.w.

One who has a good intention but performs a salaat that had never taught by
Allah’s Messenger s.a.w is regarded as wrong and contradicts the sunnah. For
instance, if someone fabricates a new salaat linking it to a certain event or
giving it a specific name such as ‘salaat of reduction in fuel price’ then it is
considered wrong albeit the intention is good.

Because of that, it is not surprising to see the ulama vehemently voicing
their objections against the newly fabricated acts of worship that are not found
stated in any sahih hadith. For instance, the outstanding scholar of Mazhab
al-Syafi’I, al-Imam al-Nawawi (deceased in 676H) was being very stern in
objecting the Salaat Raghaib that is the salaat specifically performed on the
first Friday night in the month of Rejab.

We can see this from his writing when he expounded a hadith from the Prophet
s.a.w reported by al-Imam Muslim. From Abi Hurairah r.a, the Prophet s.a.w said,
“Do not single out the night (preceding) Friday among the nights for prayer and
do not single out Friday among days for fasting but only when anyone among you
is accustomed to fast (on dates) which coincide with this day (Friday).”
(Reported by Muslim)

Al-Imam al-Nawawi said, “In this hadith, there is a clear prohibition against
singling out Friday night to perform a salaat that is not performed in the other
nights and to observe fasting during the day as stated. It is a unanimous
consensus among the ulama to judge it as makruh (disliked, detested). The ulama
use this hadith to provide a contention for attesting the fault of salaat bid’ah
called salaat al-Raghaib. May Allah destroy the fabricator and creator of this
salaat. This is because it is a wicked bid’ah from the type of bid’ah that is
deviant and ignorant. In it is a clear wickedness. Verily, a group of ulama have
produced valuable writings that are abundant in condemning and asserting the
deviancy of those performing that saalat as well as the fabricator. The ulama
have stated the reasoning for the badness and the wickedness and the deviancy of
its fabricator.” (Al-Nawawi, Syarh Sahih Muslim, 3/211. Beirut: Dar al-Khair).

Similarly, another scholar of Mazhab al-Syafi’I named al-Imam al-Sayuti
(deceased in 910H) also said, “You should know that, may Allah bless you, verily
the act of glorifying that day and its night (the day and night of the first
Friday in Rejab) is a newly fabricated deed in Islam which emerged after four
hundred years. There is a hadith judged as fabricated by the consensus of ulama
that narrates the benefits of observing fasting during the day and performing
salaat during the night. They call it salaat Raghaib.” He then said, “Know that
verily this fabricated salaat contradicts the Islamic way in many forms..”
(Al-Sayuti, Al-Amr bi al-Ittiba’ wa al-Nahy ‘an al-Ibtida’ pg. 52. Beirut: Dar
al-Fikr ).

We can see that these ulama were being very stern and the words they used
were even more burning and harsh in objecting the specific ibadah not originated
from the Prophet s.a.w. They all had the same intention that was to preserve the
genuineness of this religion of revelation to inhibit meddling by humankind.
Allah says (translated as): “What! Have they partners (in godhead), who have
established for them some religion without the permission of Allah?” (Surah
al-Syura: verse 21)

The Prophet s.a.w said, “He who innovates things in our affairs for which
there is no valid (reason) (commits sin) and these are to be rejected.”
(Reported by al-Bukhari and Muslim)

I am so fascinated by the dialogue that occurred between al-Imam Malik and a
person who aspired to perform a deed that he deemed are more commendable than
the deed of the Prophet s.a.w. A man approached al-Imam Malik and said, “O Abu
‘Abd Allah (appellation of al-Imam Malik), which place shall I start my ihram
from?” He answered, “From Zu Hulaifah, the same place that Allah’s Messenger
s.a.w started his ihram from.”

That man then said, “I would like to start my ihram from the Prophet’s
Mosque.” Al-Imam Malik answered, “Do not do that.” That man said, “I would like
to start my ihram from the Prophet’s grave.” Al-Imam Malik answered, “Do not do
that. I am afraid that fitna (the corruption of religion) will befall you.”

The man asked, “What is the fitna? It is just a distance I am planning to
add.” Al-Imam Malik answered, “Is there a bigger fitna than your perception of
thinking that you have put forward one good thing in an area where Allah’s
Messenger s.a.w had cut down? Verily, I have heard the saying of Allah
(translated as): “Then let those beware who withstand the Messenger’s order,
lest some trial befall them, or a grievous penalty be inflicted on them.” (Surah
al-Nur: verse 63)” (Al-Syatibi, Al-I’tisam, pg. 102 Beirut: Dar al-Kitab
al-‘Arabi)

Although the man wanted to start his ihram from a venerable place that was
the Prophet’s mosque (s.a.w) or his grave but al-Imam Malik bin Anas objected to
it because it was an ibadah never performed by the Prophet s.a.w. He stated that
it was fitna because it seemed like the man deemed himself as having the chance
to perform a better ibadah than the Prophet s.a.w.

It is clear that a good intention is not enough if the corresponding action
is not based on the right guidance. In matters of muamalah or life’s routine,
the scope provided by the religion is very vast. It is not as narrow as matters
in specific ibadah involving salaat, fasting, dua (recitations of prayer) and
the likes of it. Nevertheless, as we keep ourselves occupied with the worldly
affairs, let us not perform noble deeds in ways that contradict the principles
of Islam.

For instance, the intention of collecting donation for the orphans is
commendable. However, if the method includes organizing the kind of concert that
promotes negative elements to the youth then it is no longer considered as
commendable. This is because the end does not justify the means.

That is why I objected the ceremony of meditation and salutations performed
to the National Monument. That ceremony cannot be performed by a Muslim who
holds fast to the akidah of genuine tauhid (belief). His intention was probably
good that was to commemorate our national heroes but that was not the right way
to do it. That ceremony contained a clear element of idolatry. It contradicted
the principles of Islamic belief that is uncontaminated from elements of shirk
(joining others in worship with Allah).

How else can we regard a ceremony that involves meditation, offering salute
and presenting garlands to a statute if not similar to idolatry? Is this kind of
ceremony not performed by idol worshippers? If the person performing the
ceremony stated that he did not have any conviction or intention that the
monument could give any benefit or harm but rather, it was only an empty
ceremony then it means that he had performed a worthless and stupid task. At the
same time, it is still regarded as haram by syarak since it resembles the
religious ceremony of idol worshippers.

If that person thought that the ceremony could bring forth peace and
tranquility to the country or bliss to the soul of those heroes then that
conviction and deed carries a clear element of shirk. Have we forgotten about
the criticism Prophet Ibrahim a.s gave to his people? Allah says (translated
as): “We bestowed aforetime on Abraham his rectitude of conduct, and well were
We acquainted with him. Behold! He said to his father and his people, “What are
these images, to which ye are (so assiduously) devoted?” They said, “We found
our fathers worshipping them.” He said, “Indeed ye have been in manifest error -
ye and your fathers.”” (Surah al-Anbiya: verse 51-54)

Fatwa was issued at state and national level to rule this deed as haram.
Unfortunately, it has been officially resurrected and the Muslim community just
keeps mum about it. I am taking the risk to remind all of the Muslims of this
matter specifically the new generation whose akidah is starting to slacken.

Do not let them to think that this action is acceptable in embracing the
religion just because they see it is being done at higher level. Tomorrow they
will probably give their salute or present a garland or fruits to any statue or
monument or mound that they regard as holy. Do not anyone who bears religious
title try to justify that action. It is hoped that those flatterers or
‘remunerated advisors’ will not cause a downfall.

Have we forgotten about the name of the idols revered by the people of
Prophet Nuh a.s. Allah says (translated as): “And They have said (to each
other), ‘Abandon not your gods: abandon neither Wadd nor Suwa’, neither Yaguth
nor Ya’uq, nor Nasr’ They have already misled many; and grant Thou no increase
to the wrong- doers but in straying (from their mark).” (Surah Nuh: verse
23-24)

In a hadith reported by al-Bukhari, Ibn ‘Abbas narrated that the name Wadd,
Suwaa, Yaghuth, Ya’uuq and Nasr formerly belonged to some pious men of the
people of Noah, and when they died Satan inspired their people to prepare and
place idols at the places where they used to sit, and to call those idols by
their names. The people did so, but the idols were not worshipped till those
people (who initiated them) had died and the origin of the idols had become
obscure, whereupon people began worshipping them. (Reported by al-Bukhari)

That is how some matters that start with a good intention can lead to a
wicked outcome because there is no analysis done to foresee the outcome of a
specific action. Politicians are fond of things that produce instantaneous
result for their political gains. Sometimes they even do not have the time to
look up the sky and think about the long term effect of their actions.

The Prophet s.a.w gave us this reminder, “He who called (people) to
righteousness, there would be reward (assured) for him like the rewards of those
who adhered to it, without their rewards being diminished in any respect. And he
who called (people) to error, he shall have to carry (the burden) of its sin,
like those who committed it, without their sins being diminished in any
respect.” (Reported by Muslim)

The execution of a good intention must be done in a righteous manner. This is
applicable to the various political issues arising these days. The enthusiasm to
change the political landscape must be realized with a good intention and using
a virtuous method. Many claim that they have good intentions but we do not know
what lies deep in their hearts. We can only see their actions.

Sometimes actions translate the intention buried deep within. Just like the
concert in which there was an incident of dropping the pants. Its objective was
allegedly noble but we know for sure that the method used was evil and thus, it
is valued with a bad evaluation. Again, we are not followers of Robin Hood who
legalize all actions that clearly contradict ethical codes only because of
slogans or alleged righteous intention.

O God! We Long For Your Divine Haven

To decide on a standpoint in this era that is bursting with confusion and
hardship is extremely difficult. In most cases, the news surrounding a certain
issue is abundant but to determine the truth about it is not easy. It is
probably even more difficult in our time, the time of confusion and the
emergence of many ruwaibidoh.

The Prophet s.a.w once said, “Verily, before the coming of dajjal
(antichrist) – in another narration: before the Last Day – there will be years
full with deceptions. At that time, the truthful ones will be accused as
deceptive, the deceptive ones will be regarded as truthful, the trustworthy ones
will be regarded as untrustworthy, the untrustworthy ones will be regarded as
trustworthy and the ones talking at that time will be al-Ruwaibidoh. The
companions asked, “Who is al-Ruwaibidoh?” The Prophet s.a.w said, “A shabby
person who talks about public affair (the masses).” This hadith was reported by
al-Imam Ahmad, Abu Ya‘la, al-Bazzar, Ibnu Majah, al-Kharaiti, and al- Hakim.
Al-Hakim stated that the isnad (chain of narration) is sahih (sound) and it was
agreed upon by Al-Zahabi.

In this era, if the ummah is not careful enough, they
will mistakenly hail many traitors as heroes or the defenders of the community.
Many of the untrustworthy ones will be inaugurated with various kinds of
honorary title while the trustworthy and the honest ones will be marginalized.
Only those with sublime souls are able make the right decision.

Thus, the Prophet s.a.w taught us many good du’a (recitations of prayer) for
us to use especially in challenging times like the present. Among the du’a is
from Umm Salamah, she said, “The Prophet s.a.w never went out of the house
without raising his eyes towards the sky and said, “O Allah, I take refuge with
you from going astray or being led astray, from slipping or made to slip, from
oppressing or being oppressed, from stupidity or being ridiculed.”” (Reported by
al-Nasai, Abu Daud, al-Tirmizi dan Ibn Majah. Ranked as sahih by al-Albani).

He demonstrated to us a good example and gave us a good reminder. Indeed, if
life is without Allah’s guidance, surely humankind will stray from the right
path. A person will probably go astray or be led astray by others. Or he will
probably slip from the true path or made to slip by others. He will probably
oppress others or other people will oppress him. Or probably he will act
stupidly or other people will cause him to act stupidly. O Rabb! Only You are
capable to give protection!

In this age, there are various kinds of news coming from many angles. They
are like lightning and sometimes even faster than lightning. The technological
perks we are enjoying now have transformed to become an inconvenience in life
that sets off feelings of chaos and ambiguity as well as causes disorderliness
in the world of information and fitna. It is to the extent that we even
occasionally fail to differentiate between rights and wrongs, unable to
differentiate between news that is fasik (sinful) or soleh (respectable) or
lagha (worthless).

Al-Quran teaches us (translated as): “O ye who believe! if a wicked person
comes to you with any news, ascertain the truth, Lest ye harm people
unwittingly, and afterwards become full of repentance for what ye have done.”
(Surah al-Hujurat: verse 6)

We are living in a technological era but unfortunately, it is hard to
differentiate the users from the soleh and the fasik. Many present themselves as
soleh but the truth is, they are of the evil cluster who set off news that is
fasik and deceitful. Moreover, a lot of them are clouding our view by claiming
that all the accusations made by others against him are false and treacherous
but when he accuses others, it is always all true and righteous. All the while,
it is possible that all of them are putting on an act and they are nothing but
bandits and robbers.

If the news is sponsored by America and its allies then many respectable and
pious individuals will be blacklisted as terrorists. The Palestinians whom are
being slaughtered everyday are accused as terrorists only because they fight the
Dajjal Israel, the political God of the Americans. Similarly, any Muslim
community will be inaugurated as terrorists for fighting off invaders if the
invaders ally themselves with America. If their struggle does not receive the
blessing of America or is not based on the guideline blessed by America, the
faces of the sincere and respectable fighters will always be valued as hideous
by the media sponsored by America and the Jews.

Who knows how many Muslim souls who have not committed any crime are being
dragged into the guilty cage only because they detest the despotism and
hostility of America. Who knows how many ulama have been labeled by America as
terrorists and their governments are forced to take action against them although
they have not committed any obvious sins. The world of American media is full
with lies.

What is more, not all among our generation have the capability to
differentiate between authentic news that is portrayed in an evil manner and
lies that is clearly fabricated and false news that is narrated in a beautiful
manner. Thus, many people are victimized. Because of that, sometimes we are not
surprised when a religious and sincere Muslim community in the West or East are
worried or have a mental reservation or prejudice over a religious figure or a
Muslim political figure that is being revered by the media sponsored by America.
This world of fasik is really confusing us.

Life is as confusing these days. Who knows how many people are using the
religion to lie to others, how many turbans and long robes have been manipulated
to increase the sale of some goods or to collect donations that finally ends up
in their own pockets. Who knows how many religious speakers recite the religious
texts that are fabricated or manipulate the texts to increase their sales. How
many religious texts from al-Quran and al-Sunnah have been manipulated to gain
power and wealth whereas their political ambition and wealth is not aimed to
ensure the sovereignty of the teachings of Allah and His Messenger?

This issue is not new but it had begun a long time ago. Allah says
(translated as): “Then woe to those who write the Book with their own hands, and
then say:” This is from Allah,” to traffic with it for miserable price! Woe to
them for what their hands do write, and for the gain they make thereby.” (Surah
al-Baqarah: verse 79)

In the world of politics empty of divine guidance, everything is possible.
Lying is almost regarded as the pillar of politics and politics will not be
valid without it. For the sake of power, all kinds of lies are acceptable! I am
so amazed by the prominent scholar of this ummah named Sufyan al-Thauri
(deceased in 161H) who once said, “I have never witnessed austerity being
observed so little in others except in matters of governance (authority). You
will find a person who is ascetic in matters involving food, drinks, wealth and
clothing but when it comes to matters of authority he will defend it and make
enemies because of it.” (al-Zahabi, Siyar A’lam al-Nubala, 7/262). Thus, when it
comes to power, everything changes.

Politics that should have been treated as a mission to combine forces to
think about the wellbeing of the ummah and to plan for a more blessed future for
the community and country has changed to become an arena where everyone competes
to reveal each other’s shames. The sharpness in thinking that is supposed to be
used to develop the ummah is being used to trip each other. Insults, verbal
abuse and finger pointing have been decorating the pattern of a political system
inherited from the imperialists. This disease affects all political parties
including those using the name of Islam.

In the end, because of power, many principles and religious texts have been
forgotten. Thus, it is not surprising to know that Abu Musa al-Asy’ari r.a
narrated, “Two men among my people and I entered the apartment of the Prophet
s.a.w. One of them said: Messenger of Allah, appoint us rulers of some lands
that the Almighty and Glorious God has entrusted to thy care. The other also
said something similar. He said: We do not appoint to this position one who asks
for it nor anyone who is covetous for the same.” (Reported by al-Bukhari and
Muslim). Based on the principles of Islam, those who are obsessed with the
acquisition of power do not qualify to lead the ummah.

Obsession over power is the symbol of shallowness in understanding the fact
about life in this world and Hereafter. Probably, if this is mentioned to the
politicians, they will say, “In politics, that kind of talk is deemed not
sophisticated.” However, they forget that the system of politics centered on
power scuffle inherited from imperialist democracy that abandons the harmonious
system of syura in Islam, has dragged our politics into the mire of money
politicking, animosity, pragmatism that disregards righteous principles and many
other evils. The Prophet s.a.w said, “You people will be keen to have the
authority of ruling which will be a thing of regret for you on the Day of
Resurrection. What an excellent wet nurse it is, yet what a bad weaning one it
is!” (Reported by al-Bukhari)

In Islam, our duty is to mend the political landscape and not to be obsessed
with the desire to hold the political power in our own hands. When gaining power
becomes an obsession then friends will stab friends, companions will kill
companions, a coalition will break apart, those with different principles and
basis will unify and those sleeping in the same bed will have different dreams
and even have dreams about killing the partner. That is how politics is when it
disregards the divine revelation.

In Islam, it is forbidden to request for a leadership post unless it is in a
case of emergency when the situation demands for someone to acquire the post to
save the ummah. Even then, it has to be done with full submission and humbleness
to Allah SWT. The effort to gain the post is treated as an ibadah (act of
worship) in which its discipline and rule is well taken care of just as was done
by the Prophet Yusuf a.s.

Allah says (translated as): “(Joseph) said, “Set me over the store-houses of
the land: I will indeed guard them, as one that knows (their importance).” Thus
did we give established power to Joseph in the land, to take possession therein
as, when, or where he pleased. We bestow of Our Mercy on whom We please, and We
suffer not, to be lost, the reward of those who do good.” (Surah Yusuf: verse
55-56)

A pious believer has in his heart a notion that he is compelled to acquire
authority not because of his obsession with power but because of necessity and
the duty to guide humankind towards a life that is centered on the divine
revelation. It is not to take vengeance or to merely reduce the price of goods
or to eliminate graft.

Leadership duty is more than that. The duty of a leader is to take all of us
towards a plateau blessed by Allah, save the people from destruction in this
life and harshness in the Afterlife. Instigated by a conscious soul that is
close to Allah, with tongue that always reveres and praises the greatness of
Allah, intention and effort is established to amend affairs in governance. It is
not because of the desire for power and not because to accumulate wealth.

This can be seen from his personal life that is centered upon the divine
revelation and surrounded by pious individuals who obey the commands of Allah
and His Messenger and not surrounded by ‘suspicious looking’ individuals. If
this materializes, money politicking, blasphemy, exposing each other’s shame,
finger pointing and the end-justifies-the-means method that we see being applied
by the political ‘artistes’ these days will end.

We long for the political power to fall into the hands of individuals such as
these. Indeed, we have come to a time when total tajdid (revivification) must be
carried out to our political landscape that is getting more and more convoluted
and disorganized. We long for a political campaign that is harmonious and
reminds us of Allah and keeps us away from the obsessive desire for power. We
long for those who enter the realm of politics because they are driven only by
sincerity and not by the addiction on power. We long for those resembling ‘Umar
bin al-Khattab who prayed to Allah to take his life before he started to
mishandle his tasks. We long for characters such as ‘Umar bin ‘Abd al-‘Aziz who
cried all by himself worrying over the consequence if he failed in executing the
trust Allah gave him. We long for the sincerity and trustworthiness that
embellish the agility and dynamism in politicking. O Allah! We long for the
politics that receives Your divine guidance!

Stop the Unjustified Enmity

When we read the al-Quran and al-Sunnah, we will discover how just Allah is
and none is comparable to His Justness. On the other hand, this world seems to
be full with injustice because of the handwork of humankind that has destroyed
the beautiful and wonderful system Allah put in place for all living things in
this world.

Similar to the way human beings have been destroying
the earth’s ecosystem, human beings have also been, in many cases, destroying
the system of justice in their life. Just as the environment, rivers, ozone
layer, seas, mountains and many more in this world have been ruined to the
extent that all those are now becoming harmful to humans’ life, so have justice,
peaceful life, compassionateness and graciousness been ruined that in the end
leads to the destruction of life’s serenity. People then ask, “Where is Allah’s
justness?” They forget to say, “This is the outcome of our own evilness.”

Allah is Most Just and All-Wise. Although He is All-Knowing of all the sins
committed by human beings, they will still be given a trial in His grand court
in the Day of Judgment. All of their sins and rewards will be weighed before
they are given their sentences.

Allah says (translated as): “Then shall we question those to whom Our Message
was sent and those by whom we sent it. And Verily, We shall recount their whole
story with knowledge, for We were never absent (at any time or place). The
balance that Day will be true (to nicety): those whose scale (of good) will be
heavy, will prosper. Those whose scale will be light, will be their souls in
perdition, for that they wrongfully treated Our Signs.” (Surah al-‘Araf:
6-9)

It is clear that Allah is All-Knowing of all humans’ deeds. Despite of that,
He still provides a system that illustrates His Justice by weighing the deeds of
humankind, good and bad, before sentencing them to either Heaven or Hell. Even
if Allah does not perform any weighing procedure, Allah’s verdict will not be
faulty since He is the All-Knowing Lord.

His Knowledge encompasses all things. However, for the sake of illustrating
His Justice so that His servants will not have any reasons for discontentment
when they are given their sentences, He provides a system of justice by means of
hearing and their sins weighed. Allah says (translated as): “On the Day when
their tongues, their hands, and their feet will bear witness against them As to
their actions. On that Day Allah will pay them back (all) their just dues, and
they will realize that Allah is the (very) truth, that makes all things
manifest.” (Surah al-Nur: 24-25)

If Allah does not provide the court of justice in the Day of Judgment, will
anybody be able to protest Allah’s verdict? Will anybody be able to say that
Allah makes mistakes in making judgment? Will anybody be able to jeopardize
Allah’s reign just as human beings jeopardize the ruler’s dominion in this world
through insurrection or election? Absolutely not! Glory be to Allah. No one can
challenge the greatness of His Kingdom but still He provides a system of hearing
that is most just in His Court. Is it then acceptable if human beings are
punished without being trialed fairly and benevolently whereas even Allah the
Most Just provides a system of hearing to judge His servants?

Is it appropriate to have a legislative act that allows someone to be
prosecuted without given a chance to defend him self? Probably someone can be
remanded temporarily for the duration of the investigation period but the
principle of justice requires that he must be given a trial before he is given
his sentence so that he understands the nature of the offence he has
committed.

If people are sentenced without given a chance to defend themselves then
something similar to the fatal incident occurred in Kuala Perlis recently will
take place. The victim was accused of peeping at a girl. He was then dragged
outside of his house, beaten up by the mob until he died. His wife who was still
recovering from giving birth was also beaten up. In the end, they realized that
they had caught the wrong person. The victim was already dead, punished without
knowing what his sin was. Even if that was indeed his wrongdoing, was it his
rights to be killed? For that reason, this religion opposes the act of punishing
people without valid reasons and a proper trial. This kind of act is truly
condemned.

If there is a legislative act that allows people to be sentenced without
given a trial then that is a loathsome statute. The Prophet s.a.w said,
“Evidence is incumbent on the prosecutor (to present) and taking an oath is for
the defendant.” (Reported by al-Tirmizi, authenticated by al-Albani)

Therefore, if this kind of statute and law exists then the Fatwa Council has
to convene and deliberate the Islamic view on it in a just manner without being
influenced by any group. That is the role of a fatwa. Its issuance should be
aligned with the need of the nation. If not, we will only distance ourselves
from the flow of life of the community that requires honesty and transparency in
religious views.

Whereas in this unconfined world, people are being punished due to
unjustified accusations. One will be vilified or plastered with a bad label only
because of accusations without any valid reasons or given any trials. He may not
be put in jail or killed but will be punished in an open society only because of
the accusations made by others against him.

Some may give him cynical look, or reject him or question him. Sometimes, the
effect of public prosecution is more painful than strokes or imprisonment. In
the world of internet, many have become the victims of unjustified accusations
without having the room to defend themselves. It is similar in the world of
politics. Various labels will be plastered to others haphazardly. In the
religious field, almost the same circumstance exists and in some cases, the
devil plays an even bigger role to instigate them.

Since a long time ago, if there were any individual or group trying to bring
on revivification to improve the thinking of the youth and the Muslim society,
various kind of vilification would be thrown at them. They were accused of being
kaum muda (literally means the young group). Thus, among the victims at
those times includes Syed Syeikh al-Hadi, Syeikh Muhammad Tahir Jalaludin,
Burhanudin al-Helmi, Za‘ba, Mustafa ‘Abdul Rahman and many others. It was to the
extent that a prominent figure such as Buya Hamka from Indonesia was prohibited
from entering Johor for similar reason. It was all caused by the envious lot
whose only desire was to guard their self-interest.

These days, if you talk about open-minded thinking, flexibility in accepting
the opinions of others, reverting to the authentic texts of Islam, you will be
accused of being kaum muda or Wahabi or liberal. That is
regardless of whether you know what Wahabi or liberal or kaum muda
is. That accusation does not require any proof or reasoning since it is
‘justified’ by the different opinion that you have. Making accusation without
giving any evidence or without giving the chance to defend oneself is a tyranny.
It is always committed by those holding certain self-interest.

Thus, this religion is against making empty accusations without having valid
reasons that are based on intellectual evidence and proof. Allah says
(translated as): “O ye who believe! Let not some men among you laugh at others:
it may be that the (latter) are better than the (former): nor let some women
laugh at others: it may be that the (latter are better than the (former): nor
defame nor be sarcastic to each other, nor call each other by (offensive)
nicknames. Ill-seeming is a name connoting wickedness, (to be used of one) after
he has believed: and those who do not desist are (indeed) doing wrong.” (Surah
al-Hujurat: 11)

The tendency to accuse somebody haphazardly is the symbol of humans running
out of reasoning. I feel sad when some people accuse the decision made by the
High Syariah Court of Pulau Pinang and advocator Ustaz Ahmad Jailani Abdul Ghani
as encouraging people to become apostates. Even more, some are plastering a more
serious accusation saying that he is defending apostates.

Some of you may still remember that last year, at the early stage of my
regular writing in this column, I wrote an article titled “Apostasy: Between
Emotions and Reality”. Among the points that I mentioned was, “At the same time,
we need to have a full knowledge of the fact that a person is proclaimed as an
apostate when he traverses the Islamic faith boundary in a conscious state,
knowingly and without any force exerted on him. It is regardless whether the
violation is in a form of words, or actions or belief. When the violation is
clearly committed by a person such as by insulting Allah and His Messenger, or
pronouncing himself to have or intend to renounce Islam, then he is considered
as an apostate.

Apostasy, once it is committed, is considered as valid regardless whether it
is endorsed or not by any particular authority. A statement of religion on
someone’s identification card is not a true certification of his faith. It is
simply for communal business or administration. This means that if we are able
to inhibit one thousand people that renounced Islam from changing the religion
stated on their identification cards, in actual we are merely keeping one
thousand people that are masquerading as Muslims in a Muslim society. What will
happen if the identification cards are being used as references for determining
religious stand by certain authority and subsequently a marriage occurs between
the apostates and the true Muslims?

It is also possible that they get to control the religious institutions by
virtue of their knowledge on certain areas even as apostates. In the end, we are
actually keeping a very dangerous cancer in the body of our Ummah. Therefore, to
be able to maintain the status of one’s religion on his identification card only
is not qualified to be considered as a success. Instead, it has the potential to
turn into a misfortune in the days to come. A true success is when we are able
to return them to the true path of Islam voluntarily and to eradicate all of
their doubts concerning this religion.”

Therefore, the resolution made by the court and the action taken by that
lawyer was actually a commendable effort of removing cancer from the body of the
Ummah. Just ask a mature mind, do people become apostates because there is a
room to do that in court or is it because they have lost their faith in Islam?
Surely, the answer is because they have lost their faith in Islam.

If that is the answer, the remedy for that sickness is to prevent him from
changing the religious status on his identification card, whereas he has lost
faith in Islam, or by improving da’wah and give mature elucidation to
him? Surely, it is with da’wah and mature elucidation. Therefore,
people commit apostasy not because it is decided by the court but because of
inefficient da’wah despite the overflowing monetary fund.

We can also soften the heart of the mualaf who have embraced Islam
and their family who have not embraced Islam through the contribution of
zakat money. Where have the hundred millions of zakat money
collected every year gone? Let us not constrict the concept of mualaf
only to those who have newly embraced Islam. Expand our narrowness and move
towards using the broader texts of Islam.

The term mualaf is not just for those who newly embrace Islam as
carelessly translated by some people. It encompasses those who have not embraced
Islam and it is hoped that the gift of zakat is able to soften their
heart to accept Islam. Let us not just abandon the mualaf while they
are living in a difficult condition with their family but after they die, we
scuffle over their dead bodies. While they are alive, we let them be but after
they die, we demand to have their bodies. Does this represent the beauty of
Islam?

Once I advocated Chinese mosques. Some made wild accusations by saying that
it would lead to the al-Quran being recited in Chinese at that mosque. They
said, even the prayer would be performed in Chinese. This is the custom of our
people, dynamic in making accusations and not in thinking. Even those claiming
themselves as religious advisors were also acting the same way. Is the al-Quran
being recited in Tamil and Malay at the Indian and Malay mosques?

I proposed the Chinese mosques so that the Chinese Muslim community can
interact easily with each other. They know each other better and thus, many
problems that they are facing can be solved among themselves. That is because
they have different background of problems from the Malay community in which
almost all are Muslims.

Therefore, in Chinese mosques, the Chinese people will understand the
religious lesson better and it will be easier for them to communicate with the
imam and committee members of the mosque. Thus, if any of them wishes to
renounce Islam or embrace Islam, they can apply the best approach for each case
since they understand their people better. However, some opposed this idea and
some made wild accusations. Today, we can see how much we need to have it but
its existence is being impeded.

It is better if we stop being hostile to others without any valid evidence
and a good understanding of the real situation but try to use the scale of
justice and a mature mind.

Lose Direction, Submerged In Various Issues

In a week, various issues have come to light in our not so big country causing uproar that is so loud it looks as if the world almost collapses. People are getting more befuddled and nauseated. The saddest part is that the issues being highlighted lately are private issues of the politicians. It seems like the people are being forced to bear their problems so that they forget about the rise in the price of goods and electrical tariff and the strenuous daily life of the commoners. The people have been spending thousands of hours of their time to squabble and argue about the dirty laundry of the politicians.

Some quarters do not agree with mubahalah (malediction) saying that is not the Islamic solution for such cases. A religious scholar even claimed that he has never heard of the word mubahalah and this is actually a sheer problem of deficiency of knowledge. I have explained mubahalah in this same column last week. It is in the al-Quran and was practiced by the Prophet s.a.w and the ulama to deal with the bullheaded attitude of some quarters that refused to properly accept strong lines of reasoning.

It is not a judicial process. It does not have a need for a judge, money and there is no need to hold up the al-Quran. I am recommending it because the situation has become too frenzied, some claim that the allegation is true, some say that it is a conspiracy and many more. The people are disagreeing with each other, the situation is becoming more precarious and the future is being gambled away. Both the sodomy case and Altantuya case are causing similar reaction.

The Muslim community is seemingly going to argue with each other continuously and is breaking apart. Finger pointing, slandering and attacks on people’s private life are being heard everywhere. To dampen down the situation, I have recommended mubahalah and the intention is so that the dignity of the prominent figures involved can be defended.

Suddenly, some are troubled by my recommendation and that puzzles me. Will mubahalah not restore the confidence of the masses and eliminate the slander being spread? The means to do it is just by saying, “O Allah! If I have committed that deed (state the case) then curse me.” After that, we are confident that Allah will not default on the method that was stated by Him in al-Quran.

If there are those who refuse to accept that recommendation then it is fine. It was just a suggestion. No one is forced to accept it. The Prophet s.a.w did not force the Christians in Najran when they refused to mubahalah with him. Only Allah knows the true fact of a particular matter. Only to Allah do we leave all matters. If all parties agree to obey the court, then let us all be calm until the court verdict is produced. There is no need to provoke the people to incessantly argue this matter.

Some label me as UMNO for recommending mubahalah. By Allah, I have never filled up the membership application form of that political party. I cannot afford to sue the accuser in court though. Those who are familiar with me know that I do not have much money. However, if the accuser wants to mubahalah with me, I will do it because I have never made the membership application.

Some request that the involved individuals take an oath in the name of Allah. Some say that there is no need to take an oath. The debate on denying the need for taking an oath or the appropriateness of taking an oath has consumed many hours of our time whereas taking an oath does not even take half a minute. I say that there is a difference between taking an oath to convince people out of the court with taking an oath inside of the court.

If we refer to the oath taken inside of the court, the defendant is not required to swear until enough proofs are gathered against him. Instead, the complainant is obligated to bring in his witnesses and the relevant evidences. However, taking an oath outside of the court is different. It is about convincing the others that the story or accusation is not true or that the statement of a certain individual is true.

This is like a case where a wife accuses her husband of having an extramarital affair and the husband denies it. The wife then says, “You should swear in the name of Allah.” If the husband does not do what he is being accused of, it is not wrong for him to swear. There is no nas (religious authoritative text) stating that the husband is wrong for taking the oath even though he not in the wrong.

Because of that, Saidina ‘Uthman bin ‘Affan swore in the name of Allah when he was surrounded by the rebels who wanted to kill him. Saidina ‘Uthman said, “By Allah! I have never committed zina (sexual relation outside of marriage) during jahiliyah (period of ignorance) or during Islam. Never have I changed my religion ever since Allah bestowed me with guidance. Never have I taken even one life without any good reason. Why do they want to kill me?” (Reported by Abu Daud, al-Nasai, al-Tirmizi and Ahmad)

Was ‘Uthman considered sinful for swearing that he had never committed zina while the accusers planning to kill him had not produced four witnesses? No! ‘Uthman swore not in court but it was done to defend himself. However, there is no compulsion in this matter. Whoever wants to swear, he can swear. If he doesn’t want to, he is not compelled to do so. Only Allah is Most Knowing of the reason why anyone wants to swear or not. To Him we leave all matters. He is Most Just, He knows what we do not know.

Some stated that we cannot accuse others of committing sodomy or zina unless there are four witnesses. I say that it is a must for everyone to agree with that. It is haram (forbidden) to accuse others of committing zina or sodomy without four witnesses. Unfortunately, in the world of politics in this country, although most of the politicians are Muslims, accusations involving zina has become the norm.

On the platforms of politics, people have never been careful enough in accusing this and that person of getting involved in various sex scandals. It also seems like the internet sites possess a halal (permissible) logo big enough to accuse just about anybody they like. Is it just today do we realize that this is haram? Or probably it is haram for others and not haram for us?

Allah says (translated as): “Behold, ye received it on your tongues, and said out of your mouths things of which ye had no knowledge; and ye thought it to be a light matter, while it was most serious in the sight of Allah.” (Surah al-Nur: verse 15)

We should all clean up our political climate as a Muslim community from maliciousness such as this. If we can still recall, in our country, one can accuse others of committing apostasy or even hundreds of thousands although it is just based on hearsay and without any concrete proof.

I would just like to make a small correction. A religious figure in our country said that a person who claims that he or she is a victim of rape or sodomy has to produce four witnesses and if he or she fails to do that, he or she will receive 80 lashes. I am not referring to the case currently going on but I want to criticize the understanding on the issues of qazaf. There is a difference between accusing others of committing zina and claiming that someone has been a rape victim.

If a woman brings to the syariah court a claim that she has been raped, will the syariah court then state that she has to produce four witnesses and if not, she will receive 80 lashes? In this world, will there be four pious witnesses who are willing to let a woman being raped in front of them?

The difference between accusing others of committing zina and claiming that one has become a victim is in the issues of dignity. Accusing others of committing zina involves the element of degrading someone else’s dignity whereas claiming that one has become a victim is like gambling one’s own dignity. How is it possible for a person to just keep quiet after becoming a victim?

Therefore, for the second case, qarinah (related evidences) can be used as mentioned in Surah Yusuf (translated as): “So they both raced each other to the door, and she tore his shirt from the back: They both found her lord near the door. She said: “What is the (fitting) punishment for one who formed an evil design against thy wife, but prison or a grievous chastisement?”

Yusuf said: “It was she that sought to seduce me - from my (true) self.” And one of her household saw (this) and bore witness, (thus):- “If it be that His shirt is rent from the front, then is her tale true, and he is a liar! But if it be that his shirt is torn from the back, then is she the liar, and he is telling the truth!” So when he saw his shirt,- that it was torn at the back,- (her husband) said: “Behold! It is a snare of you women! Truly, mighty is your snare!” (Surah Yusuf: verse 25-28) Look at how al-Quran describes qarinah being used in this event.

Whatever it is, I agree to the struggle to defend the rights of the people who are marginalized. I oppose power abuse, graft, the extravagant spending of the people’s wealth and the likes of it. As a Muslim, what is much worthier to be opposed is if the country is being managed without using the guidance provided by the divine revelation. Islam is not just rhetoric or slogan but it is essence and execution. We are not supposed to struggle for an individual but rather, it has to be for upholding principles. Individual comes and goes but principles cannot be replaced. Our struggle is not to change the name of the ruler but it is to change the principles and conduct of the ruler.

The end does not justify the means. You can protest the rise in fuel price but you do not have to drop your pants in public to demonstrate your protest. A noble objective must be achieved using the means blessed by Allah. Power is used to uphold the principles. The principles are not sacrificed because of power.

The Prophet s.a.w rejected the offer to be in power by the dignitaries of Mecca when it was the principles of his struggle that he had to forfeit. Let the struggle be lengthy and tardy as long as it has sound objectives. Because of that, I always repeat the statements by our prominent religious figure, al-Syeikh Abu al-Hasan ‘Ali al-Nadwi that he once dedicated to the al-Ikhwan al-Muslimin: “O ye esteemed Ihkwan Muslimin! The target of da’wah al-Din (da’wah for Islam as way of life) and tajdid Islami (revival of Islam) is not easy. Its objective and focus are not only to replace the government. Also, it is not only to switch a particular political environment to another political environment. Also, it is not only to propagate education and knowledge, or to address illiteracy and ignorance, or to fight against unemployment, or to treat the community’s flaw and morality, or the likes of them as being fought for by the crusaders of revivification in the West and East.

Rather, it is an Islamic call that encompasses faith and moral, practice and system, ibadah (act of worship), personality of oneself and the community. It encloses intelligence and spirit, body and soul. It is dependent on a transformation deep within the heart and soul, inside the faith and mind. It shines from the heart before emerges though the pen, or printed on pages of a book, or articulated on a lecturing stand. It is realized inside the whole body of a Muslim missionary, and in his life, before it demands to be realized in the whole of a community. The prestige (in being Islam crusaders) and the willpower of the Prophets were unique because of their sincere approach that’s free from all thoughts of materialistic interest. They did not seek with their divine calling and crusade other than the gratification from Allah. They implemented His decrees and fulfilled His messages. Their mind and thoughts were untainted with deeds meant for worldly gain, for achieving certain status, for constructing power for the sake of families and followers, from gaining reign. Even more, all those had never even crossed their minds.

Indeed, the empire and power that they acquired during their times were in actual gifts from Allah. The rightful functions were mainly as a path to lead to the sanctified destination, to execute the rulings of Islam, to change the society for the better and to provide guiding principles in life. This was equivalent to the proclamation by Allah in surah al-Hajj, verse 41 (translated as): “(They are) those who, if we establish them in the land, surely they will establish regular prayer and give regular charity, enjoin the right and forbid wrong: with Allah rests the end (and decision) of (all) affairs.”

It was never one of their intents to acquire an empire, not even one of their objectives. Never had it become one of their topics of conversation, or one of their dreams. Rather, it was purely a natural gain in advocating and crusading for Islam, as natural as a tree that bears fruits as a result of its prolificacy and a diligent fertilizing job.”

He also stated: “O ye gentlemen! So vast is the difference between the intended goal and the results that surface from it. These different elements will be present in the hearts of those who work for it. Thus, he whose goal is to acquire a kingdom will lose his perseverance and will silence himself if he fails to achieve it. He will then stop from advocating Islam. If he’s successful, he will become an extremist at what he does. It is dangerous for any group to have a mindset shaped by the affection on gaining governmental power, and they work for it, because that will cause them to abandon the jihad on the path of da’wah, or to deceive their own group, or to drift off the course. This is mainly because the uslub (a systematic way to do something) to gain governmental power is different from the uslub of da’wah.

It is our obligation to purify our mind and soul to be exclusively for da’wah. Only for da’wah, for a duty, for a sacrifice, for giving a priority to other Muslim brother, for liberating humankind – with Allah’s will – from all darkness to brightness (Islam) and from ignorance to Islam and from the tightness of this world to its vastness, and from the cruelty of deviant religions and its cruel systems plus its erratic sects to the fairness of Islam and its far-reaching hue. The only worthy factors that shall bring us to good deeds and jihad are for accomplishing Allah’s commands and for attaining victory in the hereafter. Then there are other factors like compassion towards all creatures, sympathy towards a tortured soul and the desire for humans’ wellbeing.

If it should come to a stage, or to a certain time – once all principles of da’wah and faith are firm in the souls of Muslim missionaries – that the goals of da’wah could not be attained unless by gaining political power, then only we will strive to obtain it for the sake of da’wah. (It should be done) with a soul that’s sincere and pure, truthful and trustworthy, attentive and honest; done diligently as we are when dealing with the responsibility and pillars of our religion and other acts of devoutness. There should not be any difference, in the mind of a believer, between governmental task and other forms of ibadah if his intention was honest and genuine. All are within Allah’s blessing and all are following the path endorsed by Allah. I feel that the principles of Islamic struggle have to be recollected by the brothers who were once very determined to make sovereign the doctrine of Allah and His Messenger. Do not let the scores of issues we have to face today cause us to lose our direction making us forget to say our name, the objective of our struggle and more importantly, whose blessing are we seeking for
